Not many in the long term, but Goulding won Saints the title in '97 and Sean Long was annoyingly good for them for many seasons after getting booted out of Wigan. Sandow transformed us in 2016 for most of the season, and Todd Carney held a pretty average Cats team together for a year. Leon Pryce didn't do too badly either for a few years after his term at Her Majesty's Pleasure. Oh and Zak Hardaker was great for one year at Cas, despite costing the same as Lineham or Westerman.
Probably not what we need right now (hopefully Roberts can steer us round the park) BUT it is funny how the bad boys can be so brilliant on one foot and so stupid on the other.
I'm trying to think of the worst bad-boy signing that collapsed in on itself within the first few games... there must surely be a few for us? Don't think we can count Kevin Walters as his only misbehaviour was pretending he wanted to wear the shirt for one night and then took a chunk of salary...
Listening to Price's comments on having one more space available and wanting an outside back but being prepared to wait suggests to me that they are really keen on Charnley and that's who he's talking about.
Him being prepared to wait could mean till either the England RU internationals have finished, till Charnley has made up his mind or till the RU season ends as Price did say it may not necessary be in place before the season starts.
Fair enough, someone did I couldnt be bothered checking who. To be honest I agree with you mostly, I'd rather we steered clear of problem players, however Joel was brilliant and I wouldn't change us signing Sandow regardless of how it ended. We were brilliant to watch at the start of 2016, sandow was unplayable at times, his performance against wigan before he got injured was awesome, the gamble paid off IMO, we made both finals and won the shield, I think if sandow stayed fit in the first place things could have been different.

I remember that game well. We were great in that first half and Sandow was a magician. Being in Warrington unable to play and miles from home wasn't good for him. As you say things could have been very different.

Just looking at the latest player movements in NRL and I notice that on zero tackle it still shows Baptiste as off contract, but very latest on Foxsports news he is not on the list at all,not re-signed or gone to another team ??
Baptiste is proberbly weighing up his options and seeing what's best for him first. Can't list him if nobody knows what he's doing From Reports he's wishy Washy on whether he actually want to come to the UK. We offered Naiqama a 2 year deal and he said no thanks as he wants to stay in Australia. Could be the same for Baptiste, he may want to stay in Australia but can't get a good enough deal over there maybe?
