| God, now i know why i moved out of Warrington. People always bloody moaning
Lets lay off the young guys now.
The older guys have had time to establish themselves if they are cr-p at late 20's early 30's then fair do's. but lads that have just started playing pro and getting booed and told they are rubbish?
1. How does that help us attract new blood.
2. What does it do for confidence for the ones that do manage to break through.
Trouble is we think they should all be world beaters straight away.
Watching Riley at the moment you can see his confidence growing with every game.
Cut the lad some slack

| Quote ="Dave T"Yet despite being a crap returner of the ball and getting driven back all the time, he is our 2nd highest metre maker, and is the 2nd highest fullback in the league in this area, higher than Paul Wellens.
Don't let facts get in the way though.
The lad is still learning, and yes he is making errors, but he has pulled off some very good try saving tackles so far, and his kick return is actually at pace rather than the jogging that Reardon and Hicks do.'"
I thought he had an average/poor game on Sunday with his mistakes taken in the round with his 60m blistering run. Then I think I am being unfair and maybe I am missing some huge potential. Then I ponder whether, developing talent or not, he would have got into the Saints or Leeds side this weekend, then I have my answer. He's closer to Gaskel than Garry Jack*

*Look it up pre-SL posters.'" I'm not still 100% convinced by him, but he shows more potential than Reardon or Hicks at 1 for me.
As I mentioned, he makes far too many mistakes, he is averaging 2 per game, which can be pretty crucial at FB, however some of the good things he does suggests he has something about him.
I thought he was okay the other day, he did two crucial things, the try saving tackle after the turnover, and turning the kick round to attack and getting the player binned. Many other fb's would have sent the ball dead, and I quite like his attacking attitude.
If anything, he is a little too keen to get to the ball, and I think that is why he makes mistakes. He will learn though, and will hopefully buy himself more time through positioning, but I certainly think he is worth sticking with for the time being.
Whilst you say he wouldn't get into the Saints or Leeds team, I don't necessarily agree. They aren't scared to blood youngsters when their first choice players are injured, and that is how the likes of Lee Smith and Ryan Hall have developed. It is up to Chris how far he goes now.

| Quote ="Latchford Wolvesfan"He wasn't that good, i think people are getting carried away with his performance.
Apart from his drop-goal his kicking game was yet again diabolical, his defence was poor, coming in 3rd man on a guy who is already tackled doesn't count as good defence in my book.
His try was the easiest try he will score in his career, all he had to do was put the ball down over the line, Wolfette could have scored it.
He made a few breaks and gained some meters which i acknowledge he did well.
His creative ability was often shocking, slow run-a-rounds and suicide passes are not the trait of a world class half-back.
Yet again he was an average player in a poor team and he looked like a world beater.'"
Absolutely fantastic, I love how you come on here and reel everybody in, I'll be totally honest...you had me believing you for a while. Keep it up it's great. Classic stuff.

Nail on head. Granted he's young, enthusiastic and has the correct attitude but the underlying talent isn't there. I'm not moaning for the sake of moaning, and Iโm sure there are many others who agree with my opinion. Hopefully I'll be proved wrong, but I wont be holding my breath. And the calls for him as man of the match are just ridiculous, Briers well and truly stood up and put in his best performance this yr! And his talent unlike Riley's can't be in question...

1. Did I ever boo Chris Riley
2. The guy has made several mistakes over many matches (see Catalans away 07, Wakefield away 09 to name two of the top of my head). I've not just come out and based my opinions on one games worth of rugby. Not only is he error prone, he physically isn't up to the standard of super league in my opinion. As previously stated he more often than not looses the collision, no matter what opposition he faces.
3. Do you really expects fans to be praising the team and thinking everything is rosy? Sunday was probably the worst game of rugby I can remember for a long time. Both sides were flat and the game was very slow. The quality of product on show was poor with too many handling errors and silly mistakes. An accumulation of disappointments for several seasons gives fans a pretty good source of topics to moan about! So I try to share my onion and have a debate on a Warrington forum, I thought that was the point of thisโฆโฆ
I will still be there on Saturday, hoping the team improves and if Riley plays he has a good game!

| I agree with those of you that Briers had the best perfromance of his season so far. However that irritates me as in his pivotal postition - and with his experience- he should be churning out the performances regularly. He created some good space and completed a couple of try saving tackles that indeed earned him praise. However his attacking kicks were poor - often directly at the full back instead of making him run around a bit. He simply must improve this. Great drop goal though.
I think the team lacked structure on Sunday and personally I think Monas was missed. I know plenty of you are down on him for his lack of kicking/ creativity but I think we missed his defensive work rate and his ability to pass the ball at pace allowing the players to take the ball running - as opposed to stood still as they were often othis week. Personally that is why Briers looked so good. There was noone else on the pitch organising play (until Bridge had a pop). A stronger team would have man marked Briers so tightly he would have got nothing out.
Riley continues to earn his shirt. That try saving tackle where he chased the no 6 down the wing showed his determination and speed. Yes he dropped a couple of balls - and this he needs to work on. But with the sun in his eyes first half he took every high ball. He got battered in a couple of tackles and still carried on regardless. To compare him to Penny is unfair. They are different players in different positions with different qualities.
What was most confusing on Sunday was who on earth was playing where? The centres/second row were swapped and changed that much I was dizzy. Surely that is not good for the game? I only hope TS is just getting settled so to speak.

I've watched Jonny Lomax for years. Basically because from being 6 years old he's had star quality all over him. The Wakey game was poor by his standards but you can forgive a lot from a debut. Both him & Frodsham (who I don't think has got a 1st team game yet) will be massive in SL in the next few years.

| I have been rather impressed with Riley this year, ok he's made a few mistakes like everyone else but it is a learning curve for him.
He seems more comfortable at Full-Back and i believe he is better suited there than on the wing.
The comments on Briers puzzle me a little, i thought he played well on Sunday and deserved the man of the match award, i feel he knows that he's playing for a contract and that has had an impact on his performances in the last couple of games, let's just hope he keeps it up.

Welcome to the forum, ill give you a few tips and point you in the right direction.
1. Don't disagree with or upset Monkeyman, Cocky Wire (RAI of Sunshine) or JWP, if you do however upset one of these people expect to be insulted on every given chance for the rest of your RLFans career, these 3 pretty much walk on water and are immune from disciplinary action, word of warning they will antagonise and push you to your limits but please don't snap because you will get a ban, they also like to put spins on your post's which is also a tactic of there's.
2. Ian77, Wires74, Bobby Peru, Rob Wire, Yed and Wires71 give valid and honest opinions both for and against, if you want a debate about Rugby League without the insults and back-biting then these are the men to see.
3. You will often here the names of Cullens Pants and Padgate Wire who were the best posters on this forum, unfortunately they have both been banned due to upsetting those named in number 1.
Happy posting.

It's cool to have conversations with yourself isn't it JWP ? Sure is JWP.
Anyhow, more silly stuff from you, which you've got to love. I know that you don't like it, that I know that your a giant testicle, that's cool. Just to correct you on a point though, I got on with Cullens Pants, and have posted before about how your a very poor immitation of Padders, so your incorrect on that front.
As for the insults, many, many times I've tried to debate things with you, but you've shown yourself to being a one eyed, bigot when it comes to RL, your opinion counts first, second & third, and it's for this reason that 99% of this forum have given up on you, correct you, poke fun at you and such. So now, I've given up, I guess I'll quit the jibes, when you quit the lies and are willing to open your bedroom door, let some fresh air in, take your tray down and whilst your waiting for your 'pop tarts' to toast, just think to yourself 'Maybe I'll be big enough to admit I was wrong about something, or at least debate & I'll open up my closed mind about things & people that I have formulated opinions, perhaps wrongly about.'
