I think it is fair to say the NRL is more defence orientated than SL, so if he is going to be exposed as a poor carrier of the ball it would be there. I don't recall him having an issue with his ball retention there.

To be fair in a one on one defending position i'd have more confidence in King than Penny but I take your point

Suffice to say that King had one of his best games in a Wire shirt and hopefully can now show why we brought him to the club in the first place.

His try where he reached up/caught/placed down in one flowing motion is one if the seasons highlights for mine thus far.

With Penny on the field this season we have conceded an average of 0.19 points per minute, which would work out at 15 points per game.

With Penny in the stands we have conceded an average of 0.47 points per minute, or 37.3 per game.

I'm not trying to claim Penny is defensively sound, or that King is weak. Just pointing out that stats can be used/twisted to show whatever you want them to.

No we don't have a problem, now that Penny has gone.

The stats that you have provided cant be denied but im not talking about the team defence.
Regardless of how many tries has been scored down the middle or on the right, that fact doesn't show up King or Penny as being poor, however tries scored down the left wing/centre positions do and since penny has been dropped we have conceded very few.

Put it this way, Penny played against Saints and we conceded 3 maybe 4 tries down his wing, Penny hasn't played in the other 5 games and we have only conceded 2 tries down that same wing.

How do you explain the four games where 168 points conceeded in Penny's absence?

Unfortunately points count towards the result whether they are scored down the right, left or middle. The fact that we are conceding fewer points down the left means nothing when we start haemorrhaging points elsewhere.

Perhaps what has happened is that now that Penny is not there, opposition teams started targetting other parts of the defense and found even more incompetent defense than they previously did down our left!

168 points were conceded by the team, only 2 tries were scored down the left wing, im not interested in the team defence, im trying to explain why i feel our LEFT SIDED DEFENCE has become stronger without penny.
