They’re walking already… how on earth did this Wigan team not make the final? It’s like a little sprinkling of Warrington has tainted their resilience. Very un-Wigan-like. Been entertaining in the Weekly rounds though, along with Salford. It’s a shame that champagne rugby doesn’t really work come playoff time amid all the media attention, as that’s the best way to spread the sport.

To be fair the building blocks have been there for years. It’s not like they lacked a winning mentality throughout the organisation. We, however, clearly needed a little revolution to try and rebuild from the bottom up. I guess we’ll have to wait and see if Powell is the man to achieve that. I don’t think Rohan Smith would have made the slightest difference to us, apart from maybe maintaining the status quo with a slightly higher league position. Would we have beaten Wigan just now in that semi? I’m not so sure - and we started 2022 with a better squad on paper than Leeds.

Everyone has injuries but Leeds played tonight without Handley , Fusita , Newman , Gannon , Holdroyd and Martin who are all first choice
