Exactly this...there are quite a few obsessed with stats...and.there a 3 types of lies.

Hull were attacking KRs left edge...suddenly the stats say HL made less tackles than his opposite side...

Here's something to take in...Paul Cullen was asked who was the best defensive player throughout your career...his answer was 'Jonathan Davis'...the interviewer was surprised to shocked....and asked why, 'because he could read a game at all levels and he could see where their attack was going to go accurately, he would tell .everyone where I should be and who to watch, so I did all his tackling for him....now where would jiffy fall in the defensive stats for that?

RD : Firstly, think you are being very unfair to Harvey Livett by linking your argument to Jonathon Davies. On that basis, Brian Bevan must have been the best defensive winger of all time... can barely remember him ever making a tackle !
Hoping Livett comes back an improved player and he is a definite talent.

He definitely looks like he’s put on a bit of size/weight this year. Especially since he had a really good breakout season in 2017 & then long run in the side in 2018 (Currie injured) before getting squeezed out the side by Bodene Thompson towards the back end.

He has talent that’s for sure, but I don’t see him really kicking on & improving the way Philbin has.

Then why use the analogy in a post about Livett's low tackle count in a game?

You confuse yourself sometimes.

The point was to discredit the stat angling HL being poor and/or lazy in defence...

And the Paul Cullen story is a good one not to miss out on.
