He played a bit of 2005 on the wing, I think we wanted him to kick goals as Briers had gone really poor. We had Nathan Wood at 7, then Joey came at the back end. Bridge had a blinder at Hull away when Joey played from the wing, he made a break and put Toa in.
2006 he played halfback really, Sullivan played the opening fixture against Salford and Cull didn't fancy him at halfback then, quickly.
Bridge had a pretty good game at centre in 2007, Salford away, the game where Salford came back in the last few minutes, left centre he was, I remember him giving Grose a flick pass in the first half, looked quality. I recall coming on here and the vibe being that he'd make a quality left centre. I also remember the first time I saw him play, for Bradford, he scored a belting try at Odsal against us, from left centre. He jinked from halfway and scored in the left corner, cracking try it was. Left centre is definately an option for Bridge, you could try on King on the right, or shock of all shocks, leave him out.

He played on the wing for most of 2005, i agree he would make a good centre but i would put him in place of Briers for a couple of games and see how we shape first.

I think he has a few more weeks yet.
I think Vanderson will go to loose, Blythe a sub with Rau, Wood and Harrison. Johnson on the wing with King and Bridge on the right centre with Hicks covering the wing.

Only the part he was involved in is my point, he didn't start 2005. He was injured when he came, he'd had an op' IIRC. Wood & Briers were at halfback, to get into the side he had to play on the wing, and was picked for his goalkicking. He played the odd game in the halves, but was mainly on the wing, I'd reckon circa 15 appearances that season in total. 2006 Onwards he was primarily at six, the 'left' halfback. The odd game, the one i've mentioned at Salford at centre.
I wouldn't be against easing him back in on the wing, not at all. I'd rather he played left centre though, it'd get that wate of time out of the side.
Briers wasn't a problem on Friday, your caning the wrong people. He was decent, his kicking game was okay too, you seem to think it wasn't. The only time he kicked badly, was when he was given crap ball on the last, when we'd struggled to get out of our own forty, he was forced to kick with his left foot under pressure and daft stuff like that. This is what's starting to bug me with you, you hammer Briers but not Monaghan, and you fix would be to drop Briers, when Monas was far, far worse. You advocate Penny dropping out, when again, King was far, far worse.
Do you drink Australian, think Australian and all that ...

Well i think he's had enough game time know to start him against Catalans.

He didn't play most of the year on the wing in 2005.
He played:
4 at Scrum Half
7 at Stand Off
3 at sub
6 on the wing
So he actually played most of his games in the halves.

Typical of our crowd to fumble with their bits over imports but then continually bag British (and especially local) players.

Most of the Briers kicks went straight to Wellens, apart from 1 little kick through i cant see any kicking game.
I also believe Monaghan would be a better player without Briers on the field and that's why i wont Briers dropped.
