Are you Pies thick or deliberately obtuse.
Eddie is a Wid....end of
He's shown huge leanings to Stains in the last decade or so, because GUESS WHAT, they were winning things, and playing great rugby
He's showing (some) leanings (but certainly not bias), to us now, because GUESS WHAT, we're now winning and playing great rugby. Commentators/'journalists' do that. They ingratiate (sp) themselves to teams/people who are having success. It's happening now at Man City. For 30 years, the 'gentlemen' of the press have stuck their collective knives into them. Now, they've won a cup and are playing some fantastic football, they've suddenly started to praise them. WHAT A SURPRISE.
I've known Hemmings (to talk to, and do, quite regularly) for about 7 or 8 years. His praise towards us (said to me) can be written on the back of a postage stamp. Infact, the last time we spoke, was the day before the Wigan game (3 weeks ago), when he said to me "Sam'll tear you lot apart, tomorrow"....now that's not someone who's biased towards Warrington, is it.
Back on thread, I don't mind Clarke at all. I think he's intelligent, articulate and is very knowledgable about our game. He just shows himself up with his (rather pathetic) attitude of "damn, someone's doing better than my beloved Wigan". It was almost like, at the end of the game on Friday, he couldn't wait to mention the cup game from a few weeks back. I was almost expecting him to say "Wigan annhiliated Warrington that day, SO NERR, NERR, NERR-NERR, NERR".
Yes, Sky do have people who show some leanings towards certain clubs. We have two, in Angela Powers and Paul Cullen, though their leanings are 'covered up', quite well. O'Connor and (to a certain extent) McDermott are ex-Wigan players who revel in all things Wigan. Stevo is pro all things Yorkshire. Martin Offiah loves Martin Offiah. Clarke, obviously loves all things Wigan, to the detriment of everyone else. It's quite sad, really.
The only one who I find totally unbiased is Carney.....fair play to the fella.
A slight aside, I thought McRea was very good on Friday. Normally, I've more time for Simon Cowell, but I thought he was very objective on Friday....no histrionics, just gave his views in a very balanced manner. Well done, fatso
