This is despite hime being a highlt successful businessman in his chsosen field. I'm pretty sure he has an idea of how to make a business work.

He's ponied up the money when it was wanted/needed so I think it's rough to complain but I do see where you're coming from. Thing is, he strikes me as a bloke who just wanted to help out but something, somewhere got away from him control wise - I think he's been steam rollered into doing things by others in key decision making positions. You'll gather that I want him to stay, I just want the rest involved to clear off or shape up.

I don't think anyone at all is questioning how good Simon Moran is for the club or how commited he is, the man is a fan first and foremost who put his money where his mouth was when we where in the poop.
Remember it was Gatcliffe who sold all the shares that he had been given to Simon and pocketed a tidy little sum in the process.
I think where the questions arise is because you can see that the board have made a few cockup's, some minor and some major the biggest being the rash appointment of Jimmy Lowes, not allowing the coach to deal with underacheiving or misbehaving players beacuse they didn't want the bad publicity and the News of the Wolds silence being bought again to avoid adverse publicity.
They wouldn't need to worry about adverse publicity if they made better decisions in the first place on who they where going to employ.

I'm not questioning his business knowledge, im telling people he now's nothing about the game.
He runs the club like a fan would, throwing money at it to paper over the cracks, becoming friends with to many people and letting them run riot at the club.

Agree completely - they have been taking the proverbial in my view. He paid for the train set, they've been busy wrecking it.

How would you know he knows nothing about the game. He has watched the sport for over 20 years, sits in the board room and has had one on ones with coaches and some of the best players in the business who I suspect have been very insightful.
I am afraid you are being very shortsighted if any of us where in a similar position I am sure we would all make what in others oppinions are mistakes.

Is having a great knowledge of RL a pre-requisite for being a majority share holder?
What does McManus know about RL? What does Caddick know about RL?

I know he has a very limited knowledge of the game, im not telling you how i know because i can do without the name calling and abuse that i would receive for doing so.
At the end of the day he is the money man and that's all, for to me i want more than that, i would even do without the money.

Let me get this right. Your source knows the inside of Moran's head? Plus, you want a wealthy benefactor who has the RL knowledge of Wayne Bennett?

This may be a naive question, but other than stumping up the transfer fee for Gleeson, where has SM been ploughing his money into the club?
The Andrew Johns deal paid for itself, and as far as I am aware any new signings have come off contract so transfer fees haven't been necessary. We are running under the salary cap, so the club is paying wages out of the money the club is making.
This thread reads as if SM is making every decision at the club, and paying all costs personally himself!
