Despite spells at Cas & Featherstone they have not made a move to bring him in to their club permanently. I'm sure the club has seen every game he has played either live or via video and they clearly think Hayes is ahead of him at this stage.
He will feature for the Mackay Cutters - a feeder club for the Cowboys, I hope he does well, it's a good opportunity for him.
Adam Cuthbertson plays for these, played with Riley at York and Fev, guessing he helped make this happen.

I don't think it's really fair to look at those 40 games as a total, in this case. He has been playing the odd game here and there, going from first team to reserves, and moving to new environments and systems, which can't have been easy for him. In what little we saw of him at Wire, there were definite flashes of a talent worth nurturing, and I would have liked to see him get a decent run of games at some point. If he had played maybe 15-20 consecutive games for us, we would all have a much better idea of how to judge him.

But most young players go through that don't they? Connor Wrench has had his time in and out of the side, as did Thewlis, all three are a similar age - I'd say Wrench and Thewlis have taken their opportunities better than Dean has. Young players need to stake their claim in training and reserve games, maybe Dean has failed to do that?
He's been playing weekly wherever it was and the coaches at the club have decided from what they have seen in Training, Academy, Reserves, League One, Championship & SL that at the minute he isn't good enough for a spot in our 17 and no other UK club has taken a punt on him either. I haven't seen enough from him to think he will be running around in SL killing it, Hayes looks a far better prospect. He's 22, I think this is a good move for him.

You are right. You have to be outstanding to force yourself in or there has to be a long term injury. Those in the know obviously think he has not shown enough to displace our regular half-backs & not thought it useful to put him in for the odd game. Have seen him do some good things at times & wish him the best. Very exciting for him.

I think it is probably more accurate to say that Wrench & Thewlis were given their 1st team chances because of the upheaval to the playing roster that followed Powell's coaching engagement. 2 threequarters were moved on ,whereas Dean still had to contend with trying to displace a marquee player & an Aussie in the halves.

Drinkwater & Williams have had plenty of time out this year, neither Powell or Chambers felt particularly comfortable with Dean in there - I think that speaks volumes.

Season before last (our worst ever!), we only won 6 games(I think). Dean played in 2 of them. He's always looked a decent player, yet patton gets 104 games before we realise he's championship level.

"Those in the know" also thought it a good idea to a) sign a very average, ageing, centre in PM and b) play him in the halves.
The same people "in the know" pick Gil Dudson when he could scarely exhibit less effort in a wire shirt.
Im sorry but I dont trust the RL judgement at warrington at the moment and I dont think I saw any improvement under Chambers.

We have definitely made some duff recruitment decisions just like others e.g. Leeds, Hull, Huddersfield & Castleford but I think you are being harsh on Chambers.
