At the start of the season we looked like we'd solved some perennial flaws - poor goal line defence, lack of go-forward and ill-discipline, but the team of the last 7 rounds is nearer to the disaster of 2022 than the new dawn of 2023.
Team selections are increasingly baffling, but we are still joint top and have it all to play for. But make no mistake, we are in a slump and are regressing significantly.
Good post.
Hopefully we can deal with this slump. If prolonged, then alarm bells will start to ring. Powell and the squad need to be given chance to respond though.

So who would you bring in then?
Going back over 30 years to a different sport to prove your point!! And if you actually want a name, I'll start with Shane Flanagan.

Can anyone argue against any of this?

I could take it if Hull were decent but even by their current mid-table position they were not good. We have six positions that need sorting and I’ll say it again we will NOT be a top drawer side until Ratchford has gone - he is a millstone.

That sounds like a good plan, give a new coach 1 year to build a team and 1 year to mould it. If we don't win the GF, then gone.
If we'd applied this logic to Smith, we'd have missed out on our best performing Superleague Season in 2012.

I also named Arteta. Are you aware that his coaching career started later than 30 years ago?
I used Fergie as an example as it perfectly illustrates the point, given that he is deemed the most successful manager. 30 years ago is irrelevant in the context of the point I'm making.

Should of got rid of Smith far sooner than we did but stop going on about the past. I'm giving him a chance after our worst season in my lifetime but as you say stick with him and he'll be the Fergie of the SL. Best performing team of 2012? We didn't win it. Embarrassing
