In 20 years we've gone from Maine Road to Widnes. I agree in 2004 we were outsiders - I think there will be more takers this time. But to be fair to the RFL they are trying to reward councils etc that have backed RL and also Premier League grounds are difficult to get hold of - especially the week before the start of the season. So the other option would be Huddersfield and then people will complain about having to travel 'far'. So no easy option I guess.
travel far? its a semi final ffs and its only 1 hour away jesus christ galpharm will suit me fine i dont want no mad rish for tickets its almost putting me off going if its at widnes

i know the football seaso is starting around the same time but the rfl could go for somewhere like deepdale, preston. this holds 22,000 and i reckon each team could get 10,000 supporters each, its a semi final and a derby so they arent going to struggle to sell tickets

The only way they will sell tickets is to make the venue to be as accessible to all fans and thats a ground with good road links and good car parking and also good Rail links to the ground and Widnes falls short on both of these

Widnes will do fine. As it will just about suit the crowd. Can't see more than 12000. It depends on the form of both teams running up to it as well.
