To my knowledge the club weren't interested in Thomson. Agents, especially in the NRL, love to use Warrington's name as a means of increasing offers and to attempt to force the hand of clubs who are genuinely interested.
Just thinking, it would be very warrington to sign Chris Hill on a 3 year contract right about now. Or maybe Cooper coming back, for a fee. They would be very warrington signings.
The fact that the club are about to make a 'very Warrington signing' suggests that the core problems are not fixed, and Burgess will just be the next victim in a very long line of coaching scapegoats. But hey ho, onwards and sideways.

Yes, joking aside about who the potential signing might be, the fact is that he needs to be better than Sam Kasiano if it's to be seen as moving in the right direction. And yes, I know that Kasiano has not been as good as we all expected this season, but among the faux pas it should be remembered that he has also done some good things and made a positive impact at times. Just not as much as we had hoped, obviously.
It is to be hoped we sign a player who can do big minutes. Vaughan has been flogged to death this year with Powell's 10 minute wunderkinds. Kasiano is good at what he does best ,getting the ball out to supporting runners. It is a pity not all the team are reading from the same script.

Few years ago Wigan fans were all for the salary cap and strangely now it’s holding the game back and needs scrapping, funny that.
