Matt, I don’t want to sound patronising mate but, have you ever played rugby league?
Of course they are big losses. At senior level you have attacking combinations and defensive patterns that players fit into, and develop during the season. When you bring in a replacement it takes time to perfect those things. It is no coincidence that both Wigan and Warrington have improved as the season has developed and they will continue to do so as they play more matches, injuries and suspensions permitting obviously.
