This board never sacked Powell when we were in a relegation scrap, they ain’t sacking him now when we’re second in the league (they should). If we lose the next three Saints, Wigan and Wakey then I could see them having no choice however I think the board will expect us to lose the next two and then beat Wakey. You have to remember Karl employed Powell, him sacking him less than half of the duration into his reign means he got it wrong, his ego would take one hell of a battering.

Maybe Powell has had enough. Poor bloke looked broken. Not normal to stay in the box after the game for 10 mins.

We stopped trying to attack with any sort of ingenuity well before the McGuire fall out - it actually coincided with Mikaele going home. Mikaele was playing well but he was no world beater and we should’ve been able to continue in a similar style. The weird thing for me is that the identity of the team completely disappeared a long time ago and we haven’t played well for AGES. That HAS to come down to the coaching team.
I mean regardless of things out of his control etc Powell has been a disastrous appointment for this club.
