Sims's stats are the result of him not trying to make ground. He goes in soft, often on his way to his knees by the time the collision happens. That's why he isn't making metres. There isn't a stat for quick play the balls however. With Clark, Ratchford and Sandow off the back of him, I wouldn't be at all surprised if his weak carries are entirely deliberate. If he makes 5m and gets a quick play the ball and Clark makes 20 it's a win.

All about elbows and knees, finding the grass and securing a quick five second PTB. These stats are collected internally and the players are scored on them.

Is this really how the game is now? No wonder I'm losing interest. Imagine Boyd being statistically analysed on his ability to land on knees and elbows quickly rather than his barnstorming drives and intimidation.
We should have kept Warren Stevens - he was good at finding the grass.

I'm undecided on him.
A good club-man. Excellent ambassador for the club and sport - media savvy, social. A good person to have at the club generally I think. Someone you can imagine teammates look up to.
BUT, Top 4 prop forward? Not sure. Doesn't run his size for me and penalty count is high.
Maybe if Dodds and Hill are starting props in 2016, we'll see a different Sims from the bench.

I never expected all that much from him really. Watched him for a few years in the NRL and he only really had a good last season and wasn't much cop before that. and he's done about as much as i would have thought been a decent enough signing.
i'd have had him in our team in 2011, i've said before, i'd have like to have seen him in the squad complementing morley and carvell.
Overall, he's probably not as good as what we've been sold by the club, maybe he's a bit overpaid, but i'm happy with his performance this year(cept maybe them forward passes to ratch as second receiver at the line, but we'll work on that) and i think he does bring some intangibles into the squad. these may be used better next year when gidley comes and he brings some needed leadership.

Yes a decent signing. Not great. I reserve great for signings such as Hill, that was a great signing.
