I remember when the Guardian first showed the picture of the new badge. They wondered whether it would scare kids to have such a ferocious wolf as the emblem. Presumably someone told them (and by them, I mean Parsons) to get a life and/or a pair of balls.

I've seen the Hull FC logo on Ralph Lauren tops in USA! In the Rugby range. Obviously, without 'Hull FC' on it.

Why does a police force need a wolf badge, do they need to look hard? Seems a bit sinister.

Better to give the impression of sinister and hard than 'actually' being sinister.
Even cops do marketing ! Its quite deliberate and happens the world over.
