Not sure about Blythe - needs to prove himself now he has his contract!

Has he gone full time after uni yet?

Two good young blokes, Grix has done very well filling in and playing well at centre and Blythe i think is getting there, we just need to be patient with him.

I agree with you on this one, Matty Blythe gave the impression last year that he could be something special, from the games ive seen of him since i havn`t seen any worthwhile form that comes anywhere close to that mazey run he once did that showed electric pace and great footwork.

Good news on Grix, if he can stay injury free he`s a classy player.

Blythe is too indisciplined, maybe because he tries a bit too hard?

Pleased regarding Grix, Unsure about Blyth. Grix has been good this season and has shown he can be versatile and although not a famous house hold name within Super League (Yet) I am sure the Lord Tony Smith has seen something in him to make Grix believe he can make it.

Thing is, he looked to have 'it', just something a bit different. Not only footwork, but he had footwork close to the line. I recall at Saints last year, a few times he made Saints players take airshots as he'd change direction late etc 'at the line' if you will, not making great yardage, but often enough to win the floor & enough that I thought he was a little different in truth. I've been honestly pretty disappointed in him this year, even for the reserves when I've seen him.

He may well have a strong second half of the season, perhaps he's been carrying a niggle or something. Did he have any ops' or anything on the off season ? Sometimes things like that seem to stall players progress.

Well the last few times he has played for us this year, he has been playing at loose forward, used in the Harrison mould i.e. making hard yards down the middle and getting through a lot of defensive work i think. Maybe he could be more of 'handful' playing down the edge at second row, as he does have a history playing at centre at academy level, maybe with abit more space to work in he will be more dangerous and creative.

Hmmm. I know what you're saying. I've thought he's looked a little lightweight in the tackle, forced backwards on occasion when carrying the ball etc. That'd still happen wherever he was playing. As mentioned, he's a tendancy to give away a penalty or two as well, which is something that on whole we look to be trying to get out of our game.
