While I assume you're only joking, it's not really about accepting mediocrity as much as it's about acceptable public behaviour.

I agree, I can't condone the public behaviour of some fans, but I was more responding to the true fans comment than the above.

I don't think any fan will accept foul and abusive behaviour at the stadium, I don't think there's anything wrong with booing, but anything more is over-stepping the line, in my opinion.

even booing is pointless, it put the team even lower in morale, and less likeley to perform next week, get behind your team or leave the ground.. as i did.

Different people have different ways to show their disappointment. I just leave early, I've never booed and never will, but I can accept it if other fans do it, they have their right and if it's deserved, then it's up to them. But anything more than booing is over the line.

agreed a really good thread, its difficult to judge this one. I totally understand bad language around kids is wrong and this shouldnt be done and people should have a little bit more respect. All warrington fans have great expectations and its been years and years since we have performed consistently, we've had money and some cracking players at the club now and we should be performing a lot better with what we have got. Im a wire fan through and through and would personally never boo my team cos I do think its doesnt help the players moral but also understand why some fans do it.

Great thread!

I sit in the East Stand with my son and daughter aged 11 & 6. I find it hard at times to accept the bad language and behaviour of some fans. Even before the game starts a bloke infront of me gives Matt King & Micaheal Monaghan abuse. I like many fans await the day these players earn their keep to remind him of his stupid loutish behaviour. Just for the record, as I have stated before I never boo the opposition or our team as a sign of respect plus as a respecable parent. Moan over!!!!!!

I very rarely swear that badly, but did on the way out on Saturday. And felt immediately bad as I saw a young lad right in front of me.

'Hitman' Norvern Soul wrote:Without getting into the 'true fan' debate, I've never understood those who boo/abuse their own players. It's hardly going to flick a switch in, say, Matt King's head and make him think "Gee, I really wanna up my game for these guys", is it?
People will jump up with "we pay our money, we have the right..blah blah", but did Simon Moran personally come to your house, hold a gun to your head and force you to pay?

If you think paying x amount of money gives you the right to watch a world beating team, Headingley is accessible in under 90 minutes if you catch the m62 at the right time.
Yes I was upset with the result on saturday, no I wasn't happy that twice in two weeks we've a) thrown away a lead and b) conceeded 20+ unanswered points in the second half.
Is booing going to help anything? Is calling Briers, King, Monaghan all the names under the sun going to immediately change the season's fortunes? Not a jot.
If you don't like what you're watching, don't watch. If you have vast amounts of coaching experience, why not email a CV to the club and seek a place on the coaching staff, or ask for consideration should a position become available.
If, however, you simply can't handle a combination of beer and losing, please stay away from families and young 'uns. Many people often take little 'uns to matches, they're not going to want to come back to that sort of atmosphere, either, are they? In fact, stay away from the ground for a while, because, unfortunately, a shiny new ground and some financial backing does not instantly grant anyone 'big club' status, nor does it bring instant success. (see Manchester City.)

Absolutely belting post.

I disagree that all the true fans are in the southstand

i watched the Wire in 3 different countries last year and attened all but 2 games and yet i am an east stand boy

p.s.

and i heard the chants and remarks made by the 'fans' in our end it was embarassing

kids as young as i dunno 10 were shouting shoot the ref and all this

sickening
