I hope the powers that be are taking steps to identify the scum bags who were throwing bottles and containers on the pitch at the melee that followed the Thewlis/OConnor incident. It was an ugly look on national TV. There were a number of stewards there.
Yeah don't need it, strong response needed, one of them the one I think Powell took exception too was a kid. A small minority of idiots ruining it for others.

This kind of behaviour should absolutely be called out. I've no idea what was seen on TV as I haven't watched the game back but unfortunately it's not an isolated incident.
I took my two grandsons to their first Wire game and was hoping that a) the team would turn up and win and that b) we'd have the place rocking behind the sticks, all in the cause of attracting new fans to the game.
Now I'm all for a bit of character building 'right of passage' growing up stuff but I think it's gone beyond that. I'm 50/50 on the flares but don't think they should be allowed so on balance not in favour. But the bottles and beer throwing and constant industrial language seems to be becoming normalised. Parents quite happy effing and jeffing in front of their kids.
BTW growing up in the 60's/70's I'm not particularly PC but would hope that I had the sensibility to understand there's a time and a place.
The boys (7 and 12) loved it and can't wait to go again and on reflection perhaps I was being over sensitive yesterday, maybe we were living up to our reputation but I looked around at our crowd and thought we are a bit rough house.

Stuff like this is why I don't go to the "big games" anymore. There is no way on God's green earth you would catch me at Wembley in a couple of weeks, nor at OT if we make it there either.
I go to the match to watch the rugby, not to get aled up and not give a toss about anyone else. And as for the 'industrial language' chanting, I for one think it paints the club & the town in a very sad light.....but maybe I've gone too sensitive in my old age?

It was very clear on TV and numerous items thrown over a good 5 second or so period. No chance I am taking my 7 year old girl to stand with those types.
