I remember how I was looking forward to the Stef Ratchford testimonial against Wigan last year, but when we lost 14-6, it felt depressing. Not so much losing, but only scoring 6, when I had been hoping that DP would turn us into an exciting attacking side. A lot of water under the bridge since then, but here I am again, with optimism and dread finely balanced!
It's the optimism that kills you.
I am going to the game in the hope I see a revitalised Wire team unrecognisable from that of the 2022 annus horribilis.
Be interesting to see if the ex-Warrington players can be enthused and performant in a way they never seemed to be for us.
