I have mentioned it previously on here that a couple of years ago now, I took a few photos at Wilderspool Stadium.

Well last night i found the cd they were on after worrying i lost them in a Hard Drive failure.

Given me an incentive to open up a Flickr account but as it's a new account it won't let me upload them all (for now) so below is a link to the pics on the good ole' myspace. Need resizing on here.

It had it's flaws but I still miss the atmosphere that was generated by us lot in the Fletcher...

It would have been sound with some weed killer and a lick of paint

I particularly liked the ones of the tunnel and changing rooms. It's somewhere I never managed to get to see being a fan who didn't have Sky back then.

It's in a bit of a state but I still have very fond memories of being in the Fletch on a match day!

Yeah the prices were cheaper back then, but what is it now? £16 for the south stand for an Adult? You can't really grumble at that when you compare the two stadiums.

What you can grumble at is paying £18 to go to Saints and thats in almost as poor state of repair as Wilderspool is now!!

Its £15 if you buy in advance, and Knowsley Road may have seen better days but it does have atmosphere and history.

How did you get in there, it didnt look like there was a match on?

So did Staion Road, in fact it had more history. But it's time had past.

I was down there to help out the foundation as group of school children were interviewing players.

I got there early so asked if i could have a walk about with camera.
Was good as i believe it was that day we spoke to the old groundsmen 'Ocker' who brought the stadium alive again.

Correct, it looks far better now and it's a shame it fell into such poor conditions since it's glory days.

What used to be the touchdown club looks alot different now (as a gym).

History yes. Atmosphere no. Have always found it rather quiet (apart from us desperate Wire fans of course). I never got quite so muddy or stuck behind a post with a poor view at Wilderspool. Equally I never saw a young lad trip on the uneven concrete and head butt the wall either (fan in question ended up with a face full of blood.)

that's part of teh charecter of wilderspool, i'd quite like it if we managed to get some primrose and blue paw prints knocking about the H & J somewhere.

should have them in the concourses under the south stand instead of the plain walls
