I know it's not the done thing to defend the RFL (I'm the sort of person who stands up for local councils on Facebook pages) but I think the intention here is the correct one.

The new system is intended to (1) take players' previous dodgy record into account in a more consistent way and (2) reduce frivolous appeals. I support both of those objectives.

I still think some of the rulings from the disciplinary panel (Vaughan x2) are complete nonsense and, on balance, I agree it will be better to start everyone off from a clean slate - as I suspect will happen now.

I concur. Carrying naughtiness over from last season could have been the best thing for Vaughan’s discipline lapses.

Jordy got sent off in the Catalans game for an alleged infringement that my 9 year old grandson would have stood up to, it was pathetic, but never been carded since playing from 6 years old ended up with 3 points carried over to this season, that’s the gripe I have with it.
