They made hard work of a tough encounter, completion was not good for the possession they had but team spirit showed through.
Penny finshed well when he got the chance. Bridge played in patches but threatened when he wanted. Pickersgill was awesome with his hits and hits ups which excused his mistakes. Mitchell was solid throughout and threatened in attack Blythe showed promise in attack.
Adam Neal was good going forward and it was good to see Yad at full back again.
Cheers for that pal, maybe Riley will be back at Full-Back tomorrow then.

Very vocal, very animated! There were a fair few good-hearted sniggers from the crowd every time he ran over to congratulate everyone when KR knocked on etc. Not just blokey back-slaps, proper full on head-leaning-in hugs. Bless 'im.

Great game, great team spirit there.
Thing is, there's obviously a plan in here somewhere. Penny is in the reserves, playing a mixture of left & right wing, alternating with that Williams (who continues to impress, again I'm led to believe). Now, he's given the captaincy, which is strange, but obviously something that we've all seen in him, that positivity, that sheer enthusisasm that he has, we've seen countless times him sprint across field to celebrate a Riley try and what not.
There's obviously a Smith masterplan in here somewhere, he's being given more responsibility, obviously building his confidence etc that he's given this extra responsibility and i'm sure that Smith will continue to chip away at areas of his game as he sees fit. To make him captain though, Smith must be pleased with his attitude, people continue to doubt it on here, as though he sulks etc, I don't think this could be further from the truth, purely on field is all I see of him, oh, and a couple of forums etc, I don't think I've met many people with the enthusiasm and borderline desperation to do well for this club (when surrounded by circa 20 people who clearly don't share his passion).
It staggers me that people continue to run him down, really does.

You make a good point. Giving him the captaincy shows that he isn't just a failed player who has been dropped. He has been given a purpose, and will hopefully develop.
I did notice that he was captain against Wakefield reserves a few weeks back, and that was when Smith had just taken over, not sure if Lowes had made him captain prior to that though.

Dead right. There's no way Harlequin's pack would have laid the foundation for scoring 60 points with the likes of Pickersgill and Mitchell up against them.
Looking at the team that turned out for the reserves it looks like the first team is going to be similar to the one that took the field against quins last week.
Maybe Riley replacing Mitchel.
