Anyway, people should just park on Tesco but try and be sly about it, i.e. pop in the store. Tesco don't employ anybody to monitor the car park, so I can't see who'll fine you.

I dont know who does the stats on cars being parked for to long but someone does, they reckon average joe takes about an hour to get their big shop give or take 10 minutes, any cars parked there after well the clampers will be around with itchy clamping hands, they even dress like joe public just to blend in with the crowd. Last season the car park was patrolled by a guy who took numbers & fined people £70 if they stayed longer than 90 minutes.
A relative of mine thought they would be risk it and park on Tesco's whilst they came to the game. He ended up with a £70 fine.
DONT park on tesco Council car parks are free There are free car parks on Orford Lane near Donatellos and the Irish Club There are no parking restrictions on the road which runs alongside Evan House or the one alongside Lythgoes lane (opposite Wickes)
Plenty of FREE and LEGAL parking within walking distance of the ground so no excuse to be able to avoid using this rip-off. You cant blame the car park owners. They are a business and for as long as people use it, they will charge it.

if you find a free car park simply put what you were going to pay in a jar and by the end of the season you`ll probably have enough to pay for next seasons season ticket,to me thats a great incentive

£4 is anal without lubricant really. Can't deny it. However, as a few posters have highlighted, there can be no gripe aslong as people are willing to continue parking there. I park on Orford Lane carpark or by 147 snooker club somewhere. No charge and a quick walk to the stadium.

Well, put it this way, half of my girlfriend's family work in that store and they've never seen anybody clamped and/or fined. If needs be, go and park on the far left side near the staff entrance, as they might blag your car as an employee's/visitor's. If there are people that watch, they have to be from an external company, which wouldn't make sense if it's Tesco's private land. Furthermore, half of the staff would be getting clamped as they all use the car park to work with (I know they used to do little notes for your windscreen to say you're a member of staff, but still, quite a lot of the staff don't use them).
