I'm not normally one to rant about officials but last night Hull didn't have many sets of 6 without some kind of penalty being awarded. I stand at the club end so couldn't see what half of them were given for. Was our discipline that bad? The decision that set me off was when Fitzy was taken out in the air and nothing was given and then Hull got some kind of technical penalty next set. What was the final penalty count by the way?

Think it was pretty even to be honest. Yeah he did miss a few things, the tackle in the air for one. But after watching Sky last night I thought he'd done much better than during the game when the blood was flowing and adrenaline pumping. The decision following the charge down for example. We were all screaming at him for being useless, when really he had asked Ganson for clarification to make sure it was a restart on the 20. On the whole I think he had a good game. Much better than some ref's we can mention on here

Watching it again on Sky+ and I actually think he got most calls right. Ok, he missed a few things for both sides, but I think he made the right calls when it mattered tbh.

Looks like a promising young Ref to me.

I thought the Ref had a decent game. He was consistent. If I had a complaint it would be his interpreatation of the rule relating to tackling players who catch the ball while in the air

Yeah, I counted 3 times it happened and he penalised them once.

Did anyone who Sky+'d the live game manage to see what happened with Holdsworth - I remember him getting taken out off the ball twice, didn't know whether it was late or not - the late night Sky highlights didn't show all of the game.

The challenges on Holdsworth didn't appear to be late. Those kind of hits are inevitable when you delay the pass. He did well to get up after the first one.

I thought the ref was pretty good tbh, and did most of the Hull fans judging by the thread on their board, even though they lost.

Watched most of the game again last night on SKY+ and I'm pretty sure we cam out on top of the penalty count (something like 13-10 IIRC?)

 Love him or hate him, 163 consecutive appearances should make Stuart Littler a Salford legend in anyone's book

Following the Talau "wonder tackle" on Whiting, Whiting passed the ball after the tackle was complete in my opinion. The game was restarted with a turn over on our own line. Am I the only one who thought we should have had a penalty at that point?

Ken Gill could make the ball talk.
