Good to see.

Once Salford can establish a rugby league culture in it's catchment, as there is in Leeds, Wigan etc, we will surely see a massive improvement at the top playing level.

I mean, Malc aside, it must be hard for lads from Wigan say, who have grown up dreaming of playing for Wigan, to muster the same enthusiasm and to put everything on the line for a club they would ideally not be playing for.
I know it could be argued that it's their job, etc etc but put yourself in their shoes.

Until we get a rugby league culture in Salford/Manc, then we're always going to have to import from outside the area. I'm pretty sure that the local lad would care that extra bit more about Salford RL than a kid who missed out on playing for his local side.
Back to the link. Great to see local RL development. For me, it would be great if the club would do everything in their power to encourage the families of these children to come and watch us as much as possible. Make RL part of their lives. And hell, with this in mind, I'd personally let them in for nothing as these kids and their families are the future and lifeblood of this club for years to come.

Good to see the game being spread to my area. I played union when I was at school and only knew of rugby league rather than anything about it. I went through my youth under the false impression that union was better

It wasn't until university when one of my housemates got me into it that I actually started watching. I would never have even known there was a team in Salford. If we can get kids into the game at this age we can not only get a larger number and wider spread in the pool of players available, we can also get kids in areas other than Salford following the team.

Ive said it before and will again as often as I can! Salford Reds have been amazing for our school, Stretford High school. Tom has put in so much hard work and we have made massive strides. I couldnt have done it all on my own as Head of PE cos I spend so much time in meetings, but with Toms work we are really coming on.

I believe Salford is a development club. Sounds wierd but I hope to explain why. Just like Quins, they are competing in a sports mad metropolis and are reaching new fans all the time. Just like Quins RL HAS TO HAVE a major presence in Manchester to be taken seriously. Manchester is after london britains biggest sporting city. Without a presence in both the sport wont be taken seriously. You cannot assume cos they are in the Manchester area, people know about RL. They simply dont and kids get put off sport if they are no good at football, thats where RL niche is. Affordable, attainable and local. Its had a big effect on our school.

Im very grateful to Salford, Im a big fan of em now too and hope they do well in the coming years - just not against Cas!!!!
