MALC IS ON AROUND 870 TACKLES THIS SEASON, WELL OUT IN FRONT AS USUAL, I THINK ITS AN AMAZING ACHIEVEMENT CONSIDERING HE DOESNT PLAY AS MANY MINUTES AS HE USED TO, HE COULD EVEN GET TO 1000 TACKLES AGAIN, ALTHOUGH HIS ATTACKING ISNT AS GOOD AS PREVIOUS SEASONS IMO HIS DEFENCE MAKES UP FOR THAT. HES AN ABSOLUTE LEGEND IN MY EYES.

also luke adamson is third on 815 which is an outstanding effort considering his injury cost him a couple of games then that head injury kept him out for early on in that game

His kicking game has also been a revelation this season - I can only presume that it is something he has been practising a lot more than he ever used to.

Top of the 40/20 chart

I suspect that has a lot to do with the fact that Salford have the ball behind their own 40 metre line late in the tackle count more often than some of the stronger teams. You can't kick 40/20s if you get into your opponents half after a couple of carries every time you receive the ball. That said, it is a fine effort from Alker - I can't remember him kicking a 40/20 before this season. (Mind you, at my age I can't remember much that happened in the last ten years anyway).

Was it him who kicked the 40/20 against Wigan at home in the 2007 season? A scrum we later went onto lose...
