2 double page interview with Gareth Hock in the news of the world. In it he says he has been drug tested three times in ten years, i cant believe this, surely the players should be tested alot more, monthly or something but certainly not every three years or so. Gareth says he was doing coke for about a year on a regular basis before he was caught. Sad story.

I hope this sparks more testing because we dont need this in are game it also does not help youngsters just coming into the game at a young age that dont understand the dangers of drugs. He as been a fool and deserves at least a 2 year ban for me he would get longer
i doubt it, there are probably other players/sportspeople out there thinking they are getting away with it also, drugs in sport should not be allowed. Drug testing has to be not so random, all proffessional sports persons need regular checks.those who use drugs are only lying to them selfs when they say they dont enjoy it and its only when i'm drunk. What good role models i think not....
i work in an enviroment where i see at first hand what 'only'taking cocaine does, it leads on to stronger substances and ruins lifes...

If this is true it is really poor on the rfl's part. I got drug tested more than that taking part in an amateur sport in regular competition. To think that a professional/international player can get away with taking drugs fr a year is apalling. Sounds like cost cutting to me. The drug testing procedure is expensive but it is something that has to be done to ensure the game is clean. Regular post match and out of competition testing has to be undertaken and players with nothing to hide would have no problem with this.

To be fair that is a pretty honest interview with Hock. No surprise when I heard the news of his suspension as I have heard various rumours in the past year. Wigan have lost a good player but it could be a blessing in disguise as the club as rotten to the core and things must change over there.

From experience if there is one there taking coccaine, there will be others, Hock's supplier would have encouraged him to recruit his mates to increase business, it is a daily occurence on many college and university campus up and down the country.
