This has been bothering me for some time but when I saw Ben Cockayne produce a vicious grapple tackle that had a Hudds players eyes almost popping out of his head I thought enough is enough.

Now true enough Cockayne was suspended for the game against Quins last night.
However, there seems to be an influx of thuggish behaviour outside the family game by our so called stars. Reardon and Pryce, Cockayne and a lad from Cas' academy, Greg Bird. All of these have been convicted of violent offences and yet we allow them to play the toughest contact sport in the world.

Greg Bird was banned by the NRL so he came over here. The NRL have also banned Brett Stweart for alleged incidents which reflect badly on the game. ARE WE A SOFT TOUCH OR WHAT?
Cockayne is taking anger management classes.... the evidence from last week says they aren't working.

I think it's time we flirted these thugs from our game. RL is about controlled aggression and a physical contest not thuggery and glassing women in the face etc.

And before anyone says they serve the sentence the court dishes out, that's not good enough!!! If I was convicted for any of those offences I would lose my job as a teacher! They have just as much responsibility as me as a role model to the kids that come to watch.

Would our club not then have to have shown the same kind of ruthlessness to Wilshere last year when he was caught drink driving?, as potentially his actions were every bit as dangerous as the ones you have mentioned.

Yep! But sport is littered with double standards always has, always will be.
