Whilst I realise we're far from favourites to win the league, surely we're not going to be that bad. Fwiw I think we'll finnish 9th or 10th if we can avoid injuries to our top players.

I just hope we can make him eat his words and beat his beloved Leeds along the way.

Without even going into this thread I knew he'd said something stupid. Imo he was seriously over rated in his day and it's no wonder he was dumped by the BBC. Think Andy Farrell scrubbed this attention seeker from his christmas card list a long time ago.

Regarding where we'll finish. Haven't seen any of the friendly matches yet, but I think we'll know a great deal more after friday nights game, which I do intend on seeing. If Mr controversial is basing his statement on the Leeds/Salford game in Jacksonville, I think he needs to realize that the game would have been an entirely different result had it been played over two halves. If the antics in Florida haven't damaged team spirit too much, it would appear we have a strong squad on paper.

He gets asked the question "who will win Super League this year?" and the first 5 minutes of his reply will be about how he did this and how did that and how things were better in his day blah blah blah

Doesn't bother me when ex-players/media make these kind of predictions as they always seem to work to your advantage.

If anything he's done us a big favour by giving our players extra motivation to prove him wrong whilst influencing our opponents to think of us as easy beats.

Don't know why the hell he'd ever think he had a chance of the GB job, he's not exactly Shaun Edwards or even qualified. I seem to remember the first episode of last years boots 'n' all where a group of reporters were giving predictions for the coming season. Not a single one tipped us to the win NL1!!! It just so happens we won NL1, the league and the northern rail cup. Shows how much even respected journalists know. So should we pay any attention to Garry 'well overrated' Schoffield?
