Everyone keeps comparing us to Castleford last year. I seem to remember Catalans struggling in their first year in superleague - did they finish bottom? But they are doing ok now. Is there somebody out there with more time on their hands that can look for their results on year 1 in superleague and did they stick with their manager?

They Dragons won their first Superleague game at home as we did and then only won 1 out of the next 12 matches.

They finished bottom but did seem to improve after round 14, so role on to the 22nd May when we entertain the Bulls at the Willows :thumb: :)

POS12 Catalans Dragons P28 W8 D0 L20 F601 A894 PTS16

And yes they did keep faith with coach Mick Potter and it paid off big time for them.

They had Stacey Jones and a whole other load of quality players.
We have utter $hite (bar a few) so can not compare.
Mick Potter is also a very good coach.

The problem with comparing like-for-like statistics is that there’s little sense of how the team is performing week-in week-out. Are they losing games by wide margins or are they competitive? Are they entertaining to watch or are they boring as hell?

Salford, at the moment, have a similar feel to the teams of 1999 and 2002 — they are hopeless. In both of those previous seasons there was a turnaround in form later on in the year; however, the tipping point in both was a change of coach.

I didn't say we would win 8 matches.

I have to admit though I can't see where the next win is coming from at the moment but Catalan fans were probably thinking the same when they were on that long losing run?

You also have to consider the Catalans played 28 games in 2006 and we only play 24/25 matches?
