Ive not come on here to rant on about sacking the coach or blaming players all i want is some suggestions about how we get out of our present situation.Do we have money to buy new players? Can we get any players in on loan?Do we bring in a couple of the youngsters and play them for more than one game even if we get beat.I dont know but would like to hear different thoughts apart from the obvious ones
There's plenty of options, just not sure which are viable and would work.
The most obvious being get rid of one or all of McRae/Simms/Naylor and hope a bit of fresh blood can inspire the current lot of players. The downside of this as has been mentioned before would be the financial implications of buying out McRae's contract vs the amount of lost revenue from fans turning away from the club should he or all of the above stay.
Secondly, we can stick with the staff we have, both playing and coaching, and pray that the Cas fans are right and we'll get it right in time. It could happen with some of the younger lads who will get better with experience but as for some of our alleged experiences SL/NRL players, well, you can't polish a jobby can you?
As for getting players in loans are the only option given that I doubt we have much spare cash floating around. I also imagine that most clubs would be reluctant to loan out experienced players and if we're going to get youth team players in we are as well promoting internally.

I think paying out McRae should be the absolute last resort. If he had less than 6 months to run on his contract OK but at two and a half years you would be talking about paying out a lot of money the club simply can’t afford. This additional expense could hinder the amount we could offer the next coach, meaning we end up with what we can afford rather than who we want next time.
I can appreciate the arguments about lost revenue but why go to the expense of replacing the whole tyre before you have even attempted to repair the puncture?
My view is that the club should advertise for a new assistant coach, someone young, ambitious, who will bring new ideas and experience from playing at a high level in Superleague. And why not go a stage further with the recruitment process and involve both the Captain and Vice-Captain in the selection/interview process.
I would imagine that we could attract someone on a modest salary with the promise of bonuses relative to team performance and with a view to getting the coaches job on a permanent basis in the future.
The club is probably crying out for an assistant that would gain the respect of the players, motivate and instill new confidence and belief into the team. You usually find that new blood generally brings enthusiasm and this is something that clearly seems lacking at this moment.
Simms, Naylor and Hunte have been at the club for years and maybe things need freshening up!

I agree with alot of that. I think the hardest bit is identifying exactly what the problem is and finding a balance that pleases the majority. Loads on here want rid of McRae. not that I want to defend him but some of the basic on field mistakes have to be blamed on the guys on the pitch. I know that he signs the players and selects them on match day but when people are dropping off one on one tackles and walking around disinterested then theres not alot he can do (short of dropping about 10 players from the 17 to replace them with the academy lads, which I imagine would see us beat even more comprehensively every week).
As I said earlier, it pretty much boils down to either relying on the fact we have no pressure of relegation to take our time and get it right, or start handing out P45's and paying people off.
Going back to your post though, who would you want in as assistant? It would take a pretty sick individual to want to work at our place at the minute.
We should sack simms, bring a coach in and then put McRae in simms place because the places where hes been etc hull, saints they have had good coaches with him but also we cant spend the cap because of our crowd

A person that could offer something similar to what Andrew Dunnaman brought to the club in 2006. I am told he was as influencial off the field as he was on it.
just stick with them till the end of the season and maybe 4 or 5 games into next. We've seen bits of improvement so far, from being out of it after 10-15 mins to being level 12-12 at half time at kr. Theres no point sacking him and paying him off if were in year 1 of a 3 year franchise! Maybe we could look at getting a new conditioner in because fitness is a really issue at the moment!
We need to ride the storm both on and off the field.
I feel we need to bring in several players on loan the boy Pryce at Wigan could be a target if Noble has no first team plans for him this season.
Now that Myler looks to be injured Stefan Ratchford needs to start at stand off and Smith needs to play at scrum-half.
Jason Walton also should be brought into the first team squad now because if he is going to make it in Super League now is his time to prove himself.
I am going to Hull FC on Sunday and I fully expect the Reds to put up a bold show, of course we wll be up against it but all Super League form goes out of the window this week so it's all to play for.

What next???
A massively damageing and heavy defeat this weekend is what I fear.
With the players we have out and lack of depth in the squad I seriously fear that a record hideing could be on and some very heavy duty fall out off the field afterwards.
On the plus side maybe we do get slaughterd and SM sees the folly is staying and he walks, I doubt that will happen but after hearing his post match interview on Sunday you wonder just how thick this mans skin is.

The problem you have at the moment is that you have a coach that says he does not what to do this tells me that he is limited in coaching and if we keep him what is likely to change if we keep old of him for 3 years and to be honest i cant give a solution but it needs changing now and not in 3 years down the line when we aint improved and crowds cant be bothered anymore. We have done this to many times sack people at the wronge time and sorry if it as been said before mcrae is a poor coach and a poor leader which as taken club backwards. So if theres no change i will not come and watch them anymore because what i have seen so far is boaring one man rugby nothing ever changes
