salfords support at wigan was the best they had ever seen from away fans , quote from cherry and whites website

Indeed, hence our songsheet;

"Averagione, averagione, are we, are we, are we"

"So come on Salford Reds, come on Salford Reds, we're gonna score an average number of tries, we're gonna score an average number of tries"

"I see the Salford Reds settling in mid-table, I see the Reds going nowhere"

"And it's Salford Rugby, Salford Rugby FC, we're by far the most average team, the World has ever seen"

"Que sera, sera, whatever will be, will be, we're going to average see, que sera, sera"

:D

you've no solution though.

quite simply (and it is really this simple so please take it in), the money isn't there to spend - and our directors already spend what they can and there is no magic pot to dip into. stop whining on its boring.

Its all down to capital as many on here totally realise. Some dont sadly. If Salford had more capital then better players would come and crowds increase and then more money in the system etc. Thats how simple it is but ...........finding the capital is the tricky one.

Not especially, it's straight down the M1

Seriously, you're spot on.

How the hell people on here expect the club to "show some ambition" (ie. splash the cash), "put their neck on the line" (ie. splash the cash), "put their hand in their pocket" (ie. splash the cash) or "compete for major honours" (ie. splash the cash) when we get an average home support of about 3500 is totally beyond me?!

What Cash?

Are you dipping into your pocket to provide it?

Will you guarantee a loan for the club?

Come on folks - get real - the whole Rugby League industry in this country is struggling - sport is an industry and there just isn't enough interest in RL for it ever to lift itself to a level where it can generate the kind of income that is going to sustain a league of top quality full time professionals.

Maybe it's my natural pessimism, or maybe it's too many glasses of red, but when I look at the history of RL over the last 10 years or so and the great names that are now just also-rans (Rochdale, Featherstone, Hunslet, Swinton, Oldham, Widnes and on and on) I really struggle to see a bright future for the sport that we all love.

See you all on the terraces next week (if I haven't cut my throat with the rusty razor by then) !!

And end up like Swinton, Oldham and countless others. Even Wigan after all their success ended up millions in debt, facing bankruptcy and lost Central Park due to this approach. Indeed if fit wasnt for Dave Whelan building the JJB they could now be leading a nomadic lifestyle with no groud and playing to tiny attendances in Bolton.

the cash he is spending on the museum would do , either make your mind up mr wilky , do you want us to be right up there ? or do you want us to be a feeder club , i mr wilky thank you for what you have done for this great club , but feel we the fans are being treated like mushrooms at times , ie news on the stadium ,offers for richie , who s staying , whos going , lies about pre- season trip , just be honest , thats all we ask , we are all salford and will continue to follow the reds home and away

you simply dont get how the world works do you?

JW has been keeping the club afloat for years...he is able to do that by making sound investments in other areas. salford rlfc is a sunk cost and we're lucky, and should be thankful, that he continues to sink money in!
