The Trafford Centre and Peel Holdings is for all practical purposes the same .
Not sure why anyone is trying to create a different impression,or what the argument is..
It would be like taking 2 of JWs firms and trying to argue they operate at arms length from him.
Nothing wrong with that at all but if you think Peel is somehow different from the Trafford Centre,in practice ,then you are simply wrong!l

The whole point of the differentiation between Peel Holdings (the large property and transport business) and the Trafford Centre (a shopping centre owned by the above) goes back to Early Bath's comments about "Grey Suits at Peel who are not necessarily close to the Reds". People on this thread seem to suggest that if they work for Peel, then they must be close to the Reds due to the Trafford Centre sponsorship.

Now, regardless of whether people want to think they are the same business due to having the same ownership what is certain is that the Trafford Centre has it's own management, and that Peel Holdings have lots of other concerns, and therefore have lots of other staff who have no involvement whatsoever with the Trafford Centre or any of it's business partners. It's entirely plausible that the grey suits that are now involved come from some property arm of the very large business that has never had any contact with the rugby league team.

The Trafford Centre is just a small part of their portfolio but is the most visible, In relation to their other interests is small beer , they own Docks & Airports and have also moved into renewable power 'They've just completed the Largest Land Based windfarm in the UK at Scout Moor nr. Rochdale', I don't think developing our Stadium is top of their list, however I don't believe current financial constrictions will put them off either.

The Trafford Centre, a large shopping centre in the United Kingdom and located off the M60 motorway in the Greater Manchester urban area.
Peel Ports, owners of three major port facilities, Clyde Port Authority, Mersey Docks and Harbour Company and the Manchester Ship Canal.
Peel Airports, full owner of Liverpool John Lennon Airport, City Airport Manchester, Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield and joint owners of Durham Tees Valley Airport (75%) and Sheffield City Airport (50%).
Peel Land and Property, owners of a wide portfolio of property in the UK and abroad and provider of infrastructure services. Current planned major developments include Wirral Waters & Liverpool Waters
Peel Wind Power Ltd, responsible for the management and development of Peel's wind energy assets.
mediacity:uk, a new development at Salford Quays to house some BBC Departments and other media organisations.

So was the result!

this will not be the end, or even the beginning of the end.
It is merely the end of the beginning

It seems pretty obvious to me that Peel will build us and the people of Salford a ground in return for a Port of Salford and/or Racecourse.
Peel now hold all the cards, it just depends I suppose how the authorities deal them ?
Hence the lack of building progress on site ?
I just hope that whatever the authorites decide it is the correct decision for our area and we get our stadium and full ownership and control which I am pretty sure Peel will do as part of the 'sweetner'.

Maybe city should concentrate on buying the their current home ground from the council before mocking others.
