Defence was awesome, when they had 3 sets in our twenty I thought they had to score but we managed to keep them out. I thought Cashmere had possibly his best game in a Salford shirt, making plenty of yards, and I was very impressed with Walton.
Ratchford pretty much ran the show, his kicks (and Malcs for that matter) were finding the deck, instead of going straight down the throat of the fullback or winger, and Wilshere caught everything on the full and looked alot more confident than of late.
I thought Smith got binned for a professional foul (trying to slow the re-start down by knocking the ball out of Wellens's hand) rather than punching him, which was a bit stupid after he'd put so much effort in chasing the kick and putting in a good tackle in the ingoal.
Let's just hope we can build on this, and it not just be a one off.

Great perfromance friday night, for the 1st 30 mins thats probably the most switched on ive ever seen a salford team, we damaged saints alot in that period and deserved out lead.
Saints came back into it, fantastic defence by salford thou, Wilshire causing the saints winger to spill the ball as he crashed over was out of this world, he's had a lot of critisim on his "bravery" at times but the effort showed there is what is required by a Superleague Fullback imo, his catching was spot on too so i hope he has turned the corner regarding these too aspects of his game.
We hit Saints with a sucker punch with the Henry try and they we'rnt getting up from that.
The intensity level was there thoughout (it was off the scale in the 1st 30 mins) effort and commitment from every individual player, thank you for your effort we are all very proud.
BUT.....Success is a journey and not a destination, great perfromance but its gone now and we move to celtic next week, no point in running your blood to water against St helens if you go and get your belly tickled at Celtic, i think the performance might have taken a lot out of players playing at such a intensity, i just hope the batterys are recharged and we hit the ground running again Saturday and dont suffer a hangover from fridays performance
