If Peel Holdings are only interested in us for the short term why have they put a large amount of sponsorship money into the SCR for several years?
According to sources within the club PH put in £250000 each year and they pay it up front before the season starts.
If the Stadium delay is getting us down, how must John Wikinson and Howard Clague and others be feeling? They are into it big time we are not and I say this as a long term supporter, shareholder, lottery member etc.

I have to say I've been a little confused all along on the subject of the stadium. I never really understood how the money to do it was going to be raised.
However, I'm willing to believe John Wilkinson when he says it will happen. The guy's had plenty of opportunity to walk away in the past but he didn't. He must love the club an awful lot to put all the time, effort and money into it that he has done.
On balance, I tend to the view that a new stadium (maybe not the stadium) will be built but 2010 is looking very ambitious now.
The thing I worry about most is ownership of the stadium. I though under the old plans that the club would own it. I'm afraid now that it might belong to Peel and we would just be tenants. If this were the case, I could imagine Sale trying to grease their way in somehow. That is just too nauseating to contemplate. I'd be very happy for somebody in the know to come on here and tell me I'm worrying needlessly.

i'm not one of the doom and gloom merchants, but to be honest, 250k a year for a few years will be small potatoes to peel if they think it is what will get their port salford and racecourse projects off the ground

From the begining i thought Sale would have come into the deal at some point but now it looks as if the plans will be scaled down i doubt it'l be big enough for Sale One thing though was with RCD you had a say in what would be happening on and off the pitch but now with it being peel running the show you will have very little say in what happens with the stadium

My main aim is towards those moaning fans from other clubs who for some reason love to hate Salford City Reds and are at this time taking the mickey out of our great club.
The sooner the bloody workmen move on to the site at Barton the better and then with a bit of luck people will leave the men behind this new stadium project alone to get on with the job in hand.
ROLL ON 2010..............IT'S OVER TO YOU LOT AT PEEL HOLDINGS NOW..
