From 2012 there will be 16 clubs in SL so with 2 dropping out you will be in plus Widnes, Leigh & Toulouse.

I would say one of Wakefield or Castleford, Leigh too close to wigan to be in so Widnes and Toulouse to be in Sky already bigging up Toulouse. But I still think Sky want Spanish and italian teams in to mirror Yawnian so this could limit the number of Franchises, then again Sky might pull out and save money by showing second hand sport from overseas.

Why would Sky pull out of RL? They make a profit out of us, which they spunk up the wall on sh*t like union.

Dave Tarry says on the Sky Sports website that he is confident the stadium will still happen!

He was shot in both arms , and both legs. He later died because of his injuries. Tommy 25th March 2007.

Salford City Reds are the National League Champions again and nobody will ever win a Grand Final more dramatically than this. Division One champions, Grand Final winners, winners of the Northern Rail Cup; everything their hearts desired. Down and out? Not a bit of it, they are never out. Memories are made of this forever and a day, Salford fans will ask "where did you watch the 2008 Grand Final? Where did you see John Wilshere save the day with the last kick of the ball?"

quality stuff off the widnes site

No it's not, it's a load of bitter sh*te.

We didn't lie to anyone. No one knew that this recession was going to kick in so hard, nor did anyone think that so many unforseen problems would hit the project. Hardly the club's fault, is it? Hardly telling people lies in order to get a stadium, is it?

So, whether you're a Salford fan, Widnes fan or some other numpty from another club, stop whinging, stop whining, stop f*cking squawking and wait it out. Until the club turn around and say the ground isn't getting built then, as far as we should all be concerned, it will get built. The fact that the project is still alive in the current climate shows that the club are doing everything possible to get it up and running.

Of course, if it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen. But will that be the fault of the club? Of Wilkinson? Of the other directors? No, will it buggery. But no doubt all the moaning, miserable sods on here will blame them all rather than looking at the real picture.

Now, can we lock this thread? And lock and other threads that start about the stadium? Until, of course, there's something concrete to discuss. Because, until then, I don't see why we have to put up with the usual dummy spitting and complete b*llocks coming from all corners.

This should be a time for siege mentalitly, not belittling people with things that have no foundation (no pun intended...)

Salford appear to be the experts in releasing promising statements with no substance. They have been waiting for a stadium to spring out of the ground for almost a decade. It was promised back in 2003, and nothing. It has been promised for 2009, 2010 and now seemingly 2011. Surely time is running out for Manchester's only club.

But all the talk is wearing thin. Maybe this time the RFL won't accept false promises as they have done in the past.

Mancunians RL? What have they got to do with the new stadium?

Someday, somewhere, todayā€™s empires are tomorrowā€™s ashes.

It was Manchester Council who put the big spanner in the works when they objected because we wouldn't move to a third rate ground known as Maine Road.
Also its Manchester Council who employ Yawnian caoches and encourage that sport and not the proper rugby played in the City of Salford.
