And they have the current GB coach - who just might have dropped a hint that playing in "my" team is more likely to keep you in the GB squad than playing for a club like Salford. Of course that could be completely scurrilous and Mr Smith may be white than white in all this......

If he plays well on Sunday he'll get slagged on here for trying harder to try and impress TS & Wire.
If he plays badly he'll either get accused of playing badly to let his future club win, accused of putting no effort in or people will say he's useless and we don't need him anyway.
Could you blame him if he did decide to leave???
FL I'm in agreement with you on the Richie Myler situation.
He's a young lad with immense talent who has been very badly advised by a certain individual. I personally think he's already sorted out an agreement with another club (probably Warrington). All of a sudden the aforementioned agent isn't in the media all the time spouting his all about how wonderful Richie Myler is and how he needs to move to benefit his career.
I think it's premature for him to move on yet as he's only played a handful of Superleague games and two internationals against very weak teams. Now, for the first time in his career he's a marked man thanks to Mr Offiah so the pressure has already started.
If his future is sorted out for next season at another club then it must be with the agreement of the club as he's a contracted player.
I'm sure if Richie plays for the rest of the season he'll play as well as he can because he wants to be in the GB squad.
I personally would play the players who are committed and to the club and move on. I think we have a real Gem in Stefan Ratchford and would play him at Stand Off with Smith at No. 7. I think Smith has class but is struggling and trying too hard. He's lacking confidence which hopefully will come with game time.

Please dont give me that he played crap all season, Richie hasnt sent the world alight for a couple of weeks. If he is carrying a knock then it is simple, dont play him, or he could get abused like Coley. I am still bemuzed if it is true regarding wire as to why he would want to go there. The only difference between them and us is simple. THEY SELL 2 PINT POTS OF BEER
If I would have been the coach at the time of Coley`s signing for Wigan I would have removed him from the team also.
I can`t say I had any problem with Coley moving on and the crap he got of the terraces was`nt deserved tbh.
There`s a big difference to having an opinion on the way a certain player is peforming and abuse, I won`t take any crap at work . why should the players.

Cheers for that mate, at last some sense regarding Mr Coley. I think personally like you said regarding coley, remove Ritchie from the firing line or him too could be made a scapegoat. Hope he doesnt go as at the moment it sounds great hearing that an international plays for salford. Cmon Ritchie, you know it makes sense, sign the salford contract

Sorry mate I can't agree, there is a massive difference between Coley and Myler.
Andy Coley made it clear he didn't want to be here by not doing what he should on the field, he had his head turned (Like Myler) but not by his agent and bear in mind Coley was nearly 30 therefore more than capable of making his own decisions .
He came back from his (Minor) GB stint and made demands of the club (which I doubt Watkins would have been granted) knowing they couldn't do/pay it and his performances during the 2007 season , besides the home game against Wigan, he was woeful for one reason, not lack of ability, lack of effort. Take away the past two game (when he's coming back from injury) when as Myler not played to his potential?

Coley clearly demonstrated from the start of the season he had no intention of playing to his ability. Myler is out of form.

myler is out of form, the reason he is out of form is because he hasnt been able to concentrate on his game because his agent, the england and warrington coach as well as the rl media have unsettled him.
Coley wasnt interested in little salford after his brief and only display at international level.
Mcrae wants to play his strongest 17, which is fair enough but does anyone think its a bit short sighted? With no relegation and the playoffs out of reach surley a little experiment to see if rachford and smith can play together could save us a fortune.
Playing myler of the bench in the robbie paul role makes more sence until he finds form again and we'll discuss it then after another chat about his future.

Wakefield could be more likely.
