.......and I suppose that in the last 25 years, Halifax, Hudds, Wakey, Widnes, Leigh, Warrington, Swinton, Rochdale, Oldham etc etc etc have won plenty.
Whilst I am just as brassed off with the current situation as anyone who comes on here, surely it's not difficult to recognise that without the backing of JW, we would almost certainly by now be facing the scrapheap, like a fair few former great clubs.
It doesn't take a genius to see that our recruitment policy, no matter who has been coach, has been something of a disaster. And yes, perhaps JW's backing on many of these is, with hindsight, hard to understand, but it's quite likely that he is putting faith in others to make quality signings.
He may not have transformed this club into a silverware machine, but it's odds on that he has kept it alive for us.
Unless you can personally do better, lay off the fella FGS

And who, exactly, would've won us more titles? Who else was lining up with pockets full of money to take this club forward?
No one.
We have a salary cap to contend with. We cannot expect Wilky to constantly plough his own cash into the club - as I've said before, his pockets aren't bottomless.
A few months ago we were all glad to be back in Super League and have the chance to slowly build the club up. We're never, realistically, going to be a Saints or a Leeds - we don't have the support, nor the interest of the general Salford public. That isn't Wilky's fault, unless you're going to somehow blame him for the general apathy of the Salford public?
But hey, if you can find someone out there willing to plow millions upon millions into the club with no danger of running out of cash whilst circumventing the salary cap then bring them in.

IF I KNEW SOMEONE WITH THE SORT OF MONEY NEEDED TO BE INVESTED INTO OUR GREAT CLUB I WOULD BE THE FIRST TO LET MR WILKY KNOW, HE HAS KEPT US AFLOAT WHILE OTHER CLUBS HAVE GONE UNDER AND FOR THAT HE HAS TO BE THANKED ,BUT WHERE DOES THE BUCK STOP , IS IT WITH THE FANS , WITHOUT US THERE WOULD BE NO CLUB , IS IT WITH THE COACH WHO WAS SELETED , BY THE BOARD , OR IS IT WITH THE BOARD WHO HAVE THE FINAL CALL , I DONT KNOW YOU TELL ME

Smithy - Ask yourself :
Are we in Superleague? - YES
Where are clubs like Oldham, Rochdale, Featherstone, Swinton, Widnes ?- all great names from the past and probably condemned to remain where they are
Who has bankrolled the club to keep it afloat?
If you think the income from fans is the major income stream you are in cloud cuckoo land - TV income, sponsors and Chairman & Directors all provide more
We are in SL, we have the opportunity to make something of it, whether we will is up to the club management, the players, the coaching staff, and, yes - the fans too - but I really can't see where your line of argument takes us?
No it doesn't , and anyhow signing quality players would just give certain sections of the salford support a chance to abuse them. I give you gavin Clinch and Luke Dorn as an example.
And these people who you know who don't go anymore , not taxi drivers by any chance are they
Dear me. So average players do? You class Clinch and Dorn as top qualiity?
Many people I know (not taxi drivers ) who don't bother going anymore have just grown tired of watching the same old.
Fair play to you if you are still paying your money to support.
