Yes!!! Would have him back a.s.a.p as someone previously posted, Adamson & Gower on the park could be awesome, never took a backward step.

Do you think the fans liked Gower because he was young and didn't come with a reputation? It's just that historically the majority of our overseas players always seem to take the brunt of our supporters frustrations when things aren't going well.

Yes, think that was part of it, & yes, true what you say, that the overseas players come with great expectations & reputations from the fans, & the fans are very impatient to let them settle into the lifestyle as well as the new team regime but also think David Gower had a lot more to offer Salford. With another years maturity think he could do a good job for us 2nd time around. With who's reported to have been released from the club, think with the financial constraints he wouldn't possibly cost the club mega bucks, other than that, could Danny Sculthorpe do a job for us, dont think Wakefield want him in their plans & the fans dont want him at Cas, with his offloads, could he fit in at Salford?

Id have Gower back would Mr Simms have the nuts to go and offer him a contract, would Gower accept after being released the 1st time Gower could always ring the club and ask?

I think from the way this site is noted both by the club and local press that everyone concerned is aware that Gower is a free agent.
Was it Mcrae who released him? if so you'd find it highly unlikely that he would take him back as that that would be seen as an admission he got it wrong (which many at the time and still do think).

I'd have him back tomorrow. Thought it was a very poor decision to let him go last time and at 23/24 years of age he's in the age bracket we need to be looking at. If he does come back to Solly what's the chances of him bringing Gareth Ellis over with him?!

Didnt we release him because he left us hanging for too long before he made a decition?.
We have resigned playes before Mcavoy, Naylor why not now?
A comment from the club would be nice in the MEN, Ill even write it for them
Salford City Reds have dismissed rumours that they are about to resign fans favourite David Gower, Steve Simms said " we have our fingers in a lot of pies at the moment but David who did well the 1st time with us will not be returning.
