I'm all for themes to make things even more fun and a good atmosphere but I'm disappointed loads of you can turn out in Hawaiian shirts but we can't celebrate our heritage!!!

Yes, you're right, no one on here wants the devil back and we're all willing to forget our heritage. That's just it.

Stop bleating.

How come you have never answered one of my posts with anything constructive. I have raised a reasonable point and would like a reasonable answer please GT rather than your usual dismissive abuse of me.

I never abuse anyone on here and I believe my opinion is as valuable as anyone elses whether you agree with it or not.

Of course you won't be part-taking of the Hawaiian shirts theme as you don't like dressing up do you? Am I right on that or are you going to take offence again? Or is this just another chance for you to have a pop at me because you don't like what I have to say?

Please answer constructively and don't be tempted to give me one of these
:P !!! Cheers

If I was being abusive I would have posted something along the lines of "f*ck off you annoying little pr*ck." As it was, I didn't, so why start crying about it?

It's not really a reasonable point... The Hawaiian shirt day is an annual event (well, annual Super League event anyway!) which takes place every year and a fair number of people get involved in, whether they post on here or not. This "Devil Night" was the idea of three people or so a couple of days before the game on an internet forum which will easily have been missed. That's without getting into the argument of whether or not it would have been a good way of getting the point across to the club and that they'd have taken notice of it. As it is, considering last time I looked in the club shop you could buy stuff that had "Les Diables Rouges" or "The Original Red Devils" on it I'd say the club do recognise our heritage, albeit not fully in the way we'd all like.

We're all aware of our heritage, proud of it and celebrate it everytime we watch this club play. Everyone I know wants the club to have the devil back on the badge, preferably the original one. It's on many flags and banners that some of us have had made, often at great expense. In fact...

(There are better pictures of that one, I just can't find any at the moment...)

Admittedly, a lack of room in the shed, places to hang them at away games and other issues have meant they've not got the airing they should recently, but they are there. I get the feeling they'll be getting an airing at the Quins game. But it does blow your theory at people not caring about the Devil moniker clean out of the water.

As for me taking part in the Hawaiian shirt day... Well, I have done in the past. Albeit in pretty sober Hawaiian shirt. It's just a shirt with a slightly different design, it's hardly dressing up in a stupid costume. Will I be wearing one this year? I doubt it. Why? Because I'm a little bored it now. That's all. Will I 'abuse' anyone who takes part? No.

I hope that was constructive enough for you.

Apart from the first line (which I do hope you weren't directing at me!!!) it was much more constructive, thank you!

There are some excellent banners on view there and I do know that many of our fans care very much about our devil. I just get so frustrated by the general apathy that pervades Salford both as a club and as a City.

I wish we could get more people to display the devil, whether it be through official club lines or through other unofficial sources. My point is just that if we as a group can put on Hawaiian shirts once a season why not something along devil lines. It doesn't have to be full blown devil suits... why not a load of tridents, or more banners/ flags along the same lines as you've shown above.

I didn't mean to imply NOBODY cares, just that I wish we could celebrate our heritage more as a group of fans.

Finally I hope you (GT) and me can put a halt to the squabbles we seem to be indulging in recently. As I said before I hope you don't actually think of me as what appears in your opening line. Different opinions are what forums are for after all. Vive la difference!!!!

By the way can you send me a copy of the classic Salford devil image that appears on most of those flags as the only one I can seem to find goes rather pixelated when I blow it up any larger than avatar size.

If you can it would be much appreciated :)

I think we, as supporters, do celebrate our heritage a lot and enough. But I guess we'll agree to disagree on that one! You're right about the general apathy that does surround the club, mind.

I don't have a large version of that image, but I think someone on here does.

Finally, I don't really have a problem with you, I just seem to disagree with one or two of your posts. I'm just one of those people that doesn't think twice about putting his point across. It's nothing personal, I'll do it to anyone. And the opening line was merely making a point, not a personal remark!

I'll leave it there now - I'm having more fun baiting RLFans resident illiterate Australian on the Other Sports forum at the moment anyway.
