However even a large fee wont be anywhere near as much as some on here seem to think. I hope you arent one of those dreamers that thinks we would get £500,000, or even half that, for him because that is just laughable.
I'd be disappointed if we didn't get at the very least £150,000 for him. Considering a 29-year old Martin Gleeson went to Wigan for £100,000 plus Mathers we should be able to command more, possibly even double that. Given the hype surrounding Myler, how he's been repeatedly described as being England's future no.7 and how valuable he is to us, we're not exactly going to let him go for peanuts surely.

Dont be under the illusion that other clubs dont have really good youngsters, it is just that ours get more of a chance due to our thin squad and lack of quality players.
Tomkins is playing in his first season as a first teamer - he's not going to just come in and take the place of a player like Smith who has more experience. Similarly Eastmond at Saints isn't going to displace Sean Long. However with Long definitely leaving next season and Smith possibly on his way back home as well, we could see these two claiming the positions for themselves next year.
Myler had the luxury of being able to play a whole season in NL1 where the competition is much weaker - this would have done a lot of good for his development. I would think that after two seasons starting at scrum half in pretty much every game, 2 England caps and the possibility of him breaking into the squad for the 4 Nations, I would expect him to be starting next season for whichever side he has a contract with.
