Don't say that. I'll have to be halfway to Nottingham before the text is likely to come through!

By the way, of course 50k is better than just over 300, you clearly misunderstood the term 'relative' in my post.

Sorry I appear to be de-railing this again so this is my final comment for now until I get wound up again
No I do not know him personally and have no wish to, here are my personal views on the bloke.
When he was at Utd he always spoke $hite now he is at FCUM nothing has changed. I never once saw him at a home or away game although he always put himself across as the saviour of the club and such a loyal fan.
He set himself up in a nicely paid job, he walked away from United but still claims he loves the Club.... there are more but I wont bore everyone.
Finally. I fully understand the term relative. You can still not deny that attendance was shocking for a club of such stature and loyal fans
Wait till you are still in that league again next year.

Back to topic now.

It was a cup game. Anyway like you say, back on topic.

You mean you wouldn't fancy a midweek trip to Eastwood later in the season?

I've known Andy Walsh for years. He had a season ticket in the Scoreboard End. Saw him at quite a few aways as well. As for speaking $hite, he spoke up for United fans and did what he thought was right for the match-going supporter. He's probably one of the shyest people you'll meet, he's just passionate about football/United and believes the supporters should be the most important consideration in any football club. Hardly a bad thing, really. And, just to prove a point, I've met lads at Salford who've gone home and away with United for years. But I've never, ever seen them at a match. And I went to one or two.

And it was a cup game, not a league game, the attendance wasn't shocking, it was fully expected. We played about 8 non-first team regulars for f*ck's sake. It's not a competition that's taken seriously, like the Carling Cup. It's pointless basing arguments on it.

And we will be in the same league next year, so what? We were never going to keep going up and up, everyone knows that. I think you'll find that what happens on the pitch is secondary to those fully involved with FCUM - the main objective is being a community club that encourages people from all ages, both genders and all backgrounds involved in football, whether through playing or watching. A club that can do some good in the Greater Manchester area - something that's serverly lacking at M16 when those in charge only care about the money coming in, nothing else.

People who follow FC still love United. You can't let go, you just can't. It still kills me that I don't go anymore, that I don't travel the length and breadth of the country as I used to. I miss United, I miss the away trips, I miss the friends that still go that I don't see as much anymore. But it's about more than just watching another club. I said I'd never go again whilst the Glazers were in charge - whether FC existed or not - I stuck to that. If FC didn't exist I'd just spend my Saturdays watching United in the boozer. As it is, with kick off times hardly being 3pm on a Saturday, I now do both. If Glazer hadn't taken over and prices had gone up as they have, I'd only be watching United in the pub. I wouldn't be able to go anymore.

Nobody on any one side of the argument is better than the other. Someone who's kept their ST at United isn't a better United fan than someone who's chosen to give it up or someone who's been forced to give it up. And vice-versa. And the sooner people on both sides of the fence (and trust me, I know there's plenty of loudmouthed, opinionated d*ckheads who watch FC) realise that, the better.

Anyway, I'm done on the subject, too, now I've got that off my chest (isn't cider wonderful?!) so I'll stick to the non-league football from now on in!

Bloody hell what happened about back on topic.
Supping $hite Norwegian beer and wine at six quid a glass.
I am dying for a pint of cider

Back to Local Non league and showing my total ignorance here, but if Salford do get relegated which league would they drop into and are FCUM in it. I lost track of the different leagues when it was all re-organised

Salford are Unibond Division 1 (one step above NW Counties Premier), FCUM are in Unibond Premier (one step below Conference North). I think.

Salford are one division below F.C. United at present. If they get relegated they will return, as Iain says, to the NWCFL (North West Counties Football League) Premier Division) which is two divisions below.

Salford City's away clash at Harrogate Railway Athletic was postponed due to a frozen pitch so I decided to take in the Manchester Premier League game between Prestwich Heys and Royton Town. A cracking game which finished 3-3 in front of a decent crowd. Can't complain about value for money for just two quid admission with a complimentary 24 page match
programme.

Salford's next game is at Moor Lane this coming tuesday in the Presidents Cup against Skelmersdale United k.o. 7:45 pm.
