We shouldn't be looking at players in their 30s. I thought the idea of getting a Super League licence was to build for the future? Brad Drew is not the kind of player we should be looking at.

He could be 90 years old and still be quicker than Alker round the ruck

I think Lee and Drew would give us good quick ball to allow us to take advatanage in attack

Says in MEN today we will adopt a "buy British" campaign for next season, has also rubbished reports of signing hulls Tommy Lee.

I've heard today that ryan brierley who is a cas tigers academy player could be coming to you guys on a year loan move for 2010.

He's a salford fan from being a youngster and could be the replacement for myler if indeed myler leaves. Can anyone verify this. Thanks.

But we'd still not get many games/seasons out of him.

There was a rumour not long back that we had signed him but that fizzled out after (I think) he signed a new contract. I don't really see the point in bringing in a replacement for Myler now as we already have Ratchford and Smith, unless Smith starts playing 9 which I doubt.

Why would we play smith at nine if we getting drew and Tommy lee, which both are hookers.

Drew is unlikely to play more than 50% of games. However if you get him on a reasonable contract he is a class player. He is a gamebreaker.

Would love to have him back at the Giants for a year.

Well, Steve knows he's taking the piss with this comment. There's a ton of overseas players out of contract and more floating around the lower grades that could cut Super League quite easily. I'd be surprised if this was a move made by choice.

The latter part of this quote emphasises the real issues: either saving money/no money or avoiding potential visa headaches.
