If you read today's MEN, you'll read that McCrae was stimied at half-time by injuries to 3 players : two of whom could not be substituted. He accepted the criticism we gave but, on reading this, does this not suggest that his hands were tied.
I also agree with the last poster. It's a long time since Alex Murphy was able to do what we suggest.
Lastly - loose open play against Senior, McGuire, Burrow, Sinfield etc? Surely a recipe for disaster.

Political ends, as sad remains, will die.

Good john wilky last looked out
on the pitch at salford.
when the snow lay round about
deep and crisp and even
brightly played the lads that night
though the frost was cruelllll

For all the time the SLUG has been at Salford it has been the same through the middle four drives and a kick boring predictable rugby. When we do play it out wide orput a bit more imagination into the game then more often than not a try is scored. One big problem is that (and I expect the Alker brigade to come out in force again) we have a first choice hooker whose only forte is defence. I could not believe against Crusaders how slow we were at the PTB and this is something that has not changed in years. With Malcolm Alker now as assistant coach surely it is time he realises he is past it and steps down to let J Smith into that role.

to be fair salford's game plan has for what ever reason always been the same for a few years. never come out the line only step forward a few yards and then wait, one man rugby, always down the middle we seem to never change are style.
