front page of the advertiser doesnt air a very positive view where salford are concerned,
i can see the uproar coming off the back of it now! salford council borrow 10m taxpayers money to help the build?
can you imagine the general publics opinion on the matter? i beleive it will be built but wasnt the funding supposedly in place a while back? and peel are planning to apply for a sizeable grant from the nwda to pay for the majority of their part of the build?, if that fails what are they going to do, pull out, or pay up?
i know there is the old, 'stadium got to be built before the port' and i appreciate it, i can understand the reasons behind applying for a grant but for some reason it also tells me the feel they have spent enough money on the cause?

There has been too much money spent on it not to happen i recon, it will be built, we will have to wait a while, it wont be on our terms and we might not get our superleague fanchise but this is salford we are talking about snatching defeat from the jaws of victory/snatching victory from the jaws of defeat.
Did anyone think it was going to be easy? Everything salford RLFC do is likened to be on a rollercoaster anyway so personally im not to upset about this last piece of news , come feb/march and the land and road is being built and we can see it happened everyone will be happy again and the buzz will return.

Where does it say in the paper please that the Stadium is NOT going to be built?
In fact if the Stadium is to be FINISHED by 2012 Salford are very much in the driving seat for a SL Franchise. Most of the RL that a club representing Manchester/Salford is vital for RL.
Far too much water now under the bridge for it not to happen.

FFS people. 2 points.
1. If this is in the paper now, going to committee next week, and the tenders are in for the site infrastructure work - then it's pretty bleeding obvious that it is going to happen.
2. We've known from day one that site remediation and infrastructure is a 6 month job, and appox 60 week stadium build. So, that's about 20 months. Nothing has been done yet, so nothing can be complete until at least August 2011, and that's if we start now. 2012 season is not really a surprise, and not really a sign of any further delay - merely a sign that nobody involved with this has a time machine.

We'll have nothing sensible on this thread mate
I demand that you retract your statement now and start moaning about being lied to, not getting a franchise in 2012, never having a ground built, blah, blah, blah ...

Love him or hate him, 163 consecutive appearances should make Stuart Littler a Salford legend in anyone's book

Know what you are saying matey, but, do you not think maybe the council , who incidentally GAVE the land to Salford rugby club, want to have a say with Peel in the matter of our stadium, which also has someone in our corner as far as Peel are concerned.
Also, I would like to say, I think Neal Kealing is doing his journalistic job of "s##t stirring" in the press, has he wrote anything positive about SRLC lately!!!! NO, he hasn't.
