The seasons don't overlap that much do they? It surely isn't totally out of the question to make sure that when they do overlap Sale play away when Salford play at home. It isn't that difficult, as when the schedule is drawn up for Sale they will know when Salford's last home matches are due and can ask to play away then, and vice versa. I realise that this would mean cooperation between the two sports, but stranger things have happened.

Why all the objections to this ?
If it gets the ground started then go for it.
You could have a dual RaRa RL season ticket, I would not go for it but I am sure there are some who would.
Put discounts if you are a Sale ST holder to attend Salford games and Visa Versa.
Use their marketing expertise.
Sale went from 2k gates to 11k gates in a very short time so they must be doing something right.

A mute point , but the Stadium would have to be built in order for us to have that issue , so that would be a problem worth having

The big danger is that new support, which Salford will try to bring in, may be more attracted by Sale and rugby union than rugby league; making one choice over the other. That could be disastrous for the Reds. I’m not sure whether that would happen — the mere notion of Sale playing in Salford is nigh on farcical — but can you take that risk? Can Salford City Council take that risk? Can the RFL take that risk? There are more stakeholders to consider in this project than just Peel and Salford City Reds (and Sale).

What stadium is this then?

That would be the problem in my opinion. We would be marketing the stadium to a potential audience in the Greater Manchester and the major selling point would be the new stadium. We would struggle to compete with Sale especially in South Manchester and Trafford.

I don't care who else plays at the new stadium at Barton other than Salford City Reds at the end of the day that's not our problem.

The main things is the new stadium gets built and Salford City Reds play Engage Super League in it, my main concern is that it's not even been started on yet and the owners Peel Holding are to blame for this not Salford City Reds.
