McRae has to go - He misses too many tackles, knocks on too much and gives too many penalties away. And don't even get me started on the lack of tries he scores...
I'd get rid of mcrae, doesnt seem 2 motivate them at all I can think of 3 coaches I'd like in charge. John Cartwright, Karl Harrison, Ian Millward. They are all good motivators which mcrae certainly isnt
I don't think getting rid of our head coach at this stage of the season will prove anything.
We all expected a rough ride this season if we are honest, but of course yesterdays woeful performance at the HJ Stadium was totally unaceptable and a repeat will see more than the coach getting shown the door for sure.
There is only a few games left now this season and I would like to see a few of our younger players given a chance in the first team, the likes of Lewis Palfrey and Marlon Alker should be breaking through in 2010 and I feel in the last few games this season it would do them no harm to get a taste of what in store for them in the future.

If motivation is the problem, it's wierd how he can motivate them for the first half but not the second?!
Getting rid of our coach at this point would be a waste of time and money. If he wanted to quit I wouldn't shed any tears, but there's no way I'd want the club to be spending money on paying off his contract.
The fact that he has managed to put build, coach and motivate a team who can beat Leeds, Saints, Hudds and Wire is enough to convince me that there are reasons to be optimistic.
The challenge for next season is to keep those occasional, impressive victories but to ensure consistency between them.
And besides, I can't think of one coach who would be a significant improvement on McRea who would be interested in coaching Salford at present.

Love him or hate him, 163 consecutive appearances should make Stuart Littler a Salford legend in anyone's book
Wayne Bennett
Brian Smith
Kevin Moore
John Cartwright
well you weren't being serious so why should I be?

Good Post.
I agree.
I feel that the players are more to blame at the moment than McRae. They have shown that they can beat the best when they play to their potential, so results like yesterday are a hard pill to swallow. There was no real tactical reason to lay the blame on our coach for shipping the ridiculous amount of points that they did. A coach can only do so much, and the players really need to ask themselves some questions.
Of course, there are lots of external factors that may come into play but at the end of day, the Club needs to sit down and look at what we can do to sort this out. I thought the dark days of shipping half a century of points and more were well behind us.
I just hope we are not slipping back into those times, and the end of the season can't come quick enough...
