Most comments on here it seems to me that the majority of 'fans' are expecting us to be finishing in the top 4 and at least making a trip to wembley! I was very disappointed with the performance on friday but i am only expecting to win about 8 games this year in the league... Thats 20 defeats which we have already seen two of! Now what good do you think sacking the head coach and possibly the director of football two games into a campaign going to do? Its certainly wont induce a positive reaction inside the camp... And as for the boo's i think silence would of been far worse! The players probably feel less pressure playing away from home because they know that out of the handful that turn up are not the booing type if they are willing to travel well over 1000 miles per season like most of us 'away' fans do then i doubt they will be the type to boo

Sweeping generalization.

I also deduce that "proper" supporters don't criticize the club- full stop!

You have to agree that both on and off the field this season so far has been an utter and total shambles.

It is about time things changed. 3400 for the opening game of the season is as dismal as the inept performance. Last season it was 4,026 for a game on SKY! Nice to see that promotion and membership have successfully produced an upsurge in support.

If you pay your money you are entitled to show your displeasure. Hiding heads in sand will not get us another franchise (even with the BBC close by). At least the majority of people that boo turn up regularly.

Finally, who expected Salford to be top four with the current squad/coach? I expect us to be rock bottom with fewer than three/four wins all season. The reality is Salford got thumped by Crusaders not Leeds or Saints.

Whilest I agree with most comments you have to wonder what is wrong when the team look so disinterested for the first home game of the season and against opposition who are likely to be fighting for roughly the same league position come the end of the season. We have many new young faces and I naturally assumed that thier first outing in front of thier new home fans would have inspired them to play to the best of thier abilities rather than showing more than a passing immitation of headless chickens for most of the game.

But I still say the booing of the players is only ever going to be counter productive.

so your expectation on building on last season is to win 1 MORE game what a load of b@ll@cks

exactly why we dont get the attendances of other super league clubs

other clubs aim for top 8 and use are all happy on use just having another pointless season where we do absolutly fook all again once again

i dont expect use to get in the playoff bt surly this is the aim for the club to fight and have a go and give se fans who turn out week in week out something to be proud of for being a salford fan

yeh we havernt got the money bt so havernt other clubs and they dont seem to be doing as bad as us and have all recruited well

i wish i new this befre i forkd out £180 for a season ticket us make me a feel sick 1mre win on last season

surly theres other salford fans out there who expected use to have a go this season cos i did and i sure hope we still do

CUM ON SALFORD TOP 8 WE CAN DO IT

Very few salford fans expect a top 4 finish.

I don't boo players but I expect them to peform to the best of their ability and not behave like brats (not playing for the coach) This is OUR club we will be here long after they have gone, if Senior players don't want to play then sod off to Widnes to coach or Leigh to play.

The off season was poor. the marketing non existent and the membership scheme although great for families has caused a rift in the fan base. What has the marketing guy done (Adam?) the product is too poor to sell and that game was one we expected to win, where are we realistically going to get a win from?

Nick as positive a post as you have done. Do you honestly think we'll get 8 wins this year when we can't even beat Crusaders? I'd be interested to see who you think we will win?
