I feel I have to comment on the stewarding at tonights game. While individually I don't have a problem with any of them, collectively they are completely ineffective. I sat in the family stand tonight and found myself sat behind a load of castleford fans whose behaviour was dispicable. The first problem was that they all came up and stood up (why I do not know as two yards further forward was a perfectly acceptable terraced area - yorkshire for you I suppose). When I asked them politley if they wouldn't mind sitting down so that my son could see (not an unreasonable request in a family stand I would have thought) I was subjected to a barrage of abuse. This continued throughout the game to the point where my son was frightened. My point about the stewarding is that when I asked the steward if he could so something about the situation his reaction was "what can I do on my own?" while this may be a valid point in that he was obviously outnumbered why could he have not called for back up and evicted them from the stand. what is the point of a family stand when it is not enforced. There is a line of stewards standing in front of the main stand. Why? Can't remember a time when the directors and press have decided to kick off or invade the pitch. In my view there were plenty of stewards that could have been called upon but instead the one near us just basically got taunted becasue they knew there was nothing he could do. If they can't enforce regulations in the ground what exactly are we paying them for? The yorkshire muppets were the ones to blame but the stewarding was pointless.
1..Because they get you in and out of The Willows safely.
2. If there's an incident that merits attention ,then they'll attend.
You need to get a grip,i thought the Cas fans made a great atmosphere considering the expense and time it probably took them to get here from W.Yorks. The family stand was probably 35% at capacity tonight if that.
You dont get a desegnated seat number when you enter the stand,if a few vibrant. passionate, diehard fans (sounds like something we need) ruffle your feathers, then move....
It's so easy....
Better still.just go the 3pm k.o's when it's better suited for 4 year olds.
No wonder 'rugby fans' get peeved off with 'tyrant typers'.
family stand!!! that is a joke and yet you stick up for the cas fans who wont move out of the way for a four year old there was also plenty of space in the cas stand why did they not go there and let the young kids enjoy a game of rugby!!
Red Arrowe: I don't call telling Salford fans to F*** OFF and calling us W**KERS for cheering our first try creating a vibrant and passionate atmosphere. I call it an attempt to intimidate and what's more it's a cowardly one since it was aimed at kids and their parents. I can't believe you would take the side of these Yorkshire gobs**tes rather than one of our young fans.
One of the Cas fans smuggled a beer into the FAMILY stand where alcohol is banned. When asked politely to move to another area of the ground where he could drink he behaved like one of the kids I teach and flatly refused knowing that the steward was unable to do anything about it. If they are powerless to stop this behaviour then surely we need some sort of a police presence.
The fact that there is plenty of room in the ground is no excuse for YOBBISH behaviour and why should we have to move from our favourite spot in our own ground.
Would a 3pm KO have stopped these yobs from behaving in this way? I think not and 8pm was fine for the same 4 year old 2 weeks ago when we played Saints!!!
To die of thirst we have no fear.
As long as we get Holts' beer!!!!

Were you in the North Stand Red Arrow ?
The Cas supporters at the front of the North Stand were in the wrong place not chrismum or anyone else with young kids, it is the family stand after all.
You should`nt be slating a fellow Salford supporter or telling her to go and watch rl elsewhere.
Personally i had no problem with the Cas supporters regarding any abuse , but as I mentioned previously they were in the wrong place and their so called witty banter etc was`nt appropriate for the enviroment they were in.If they would have been on the terraces anything the Cas supporters were singing etc woul`nt have been so obvious. to the kids in the seats
Any new supporters with very young kids woul`nt be back going off what happened in the North Stand last night.
More later.

As posted on the cas board a moment ago in response to your ridiculous suggestion that I only go to 3 pm kick offs. That would require me to either only come to one or two home matches a season or go and watch another club. I'm sure your suggestion would delight the people at the club wanting attendances to increase and those who miss out on my £160 season ticket money. As for your point number two,
2. If there's an incident that merits attention ,then they'll attend.
I think that a large group of fans intimidating children and their families, using bad language and drinking alcohol in the family stand is an incident that merits attention. And they did not attend.[/quote]

because saints fans are not yorkshire n o b heads who stop a 4yr old watching rugby!!!
